I recently purchased and installed PSP 2018. I've created a PDF file of a drawing I created in auto CAD. I can open the PDF file in PSP but, can accomplish very little before it crashes. I need some information that will help me find out why this is happening.
Thanks. Jim B.

Re: PSP 2018 keeps crashing
Do you have this issue opening other pdf files? Did you just create the drawing in AutoCAD or also the pdf (your statement was ambiguous on that)? If not the pdf, in which program did you create it? Not all pdf files are created equal. We've had previous discussions that indicate that PSP can choke on some pdf files that don't adhere quite strictly to the Adobe PDF protocols but that otherwise seem to be readable and editable in programs that read/edit pdf's.

Re: PSP 2018 keeps crashing
To answer your questions.
I have not tried to open other PDF files.
Yesterday, I created the drawing in auto CAD 2004. I then plotted it as a PDF file using a program called Primo PDF.
Today, I will re-create the PDF file using a different Creator (Microsoft PDF).
Can you suggest some other way, better, to get a auto CAD drawing into PSP 2018?

Re: PSP 2018 keeps crashing
I don't have AutoCAD so can only offer a suggestion if the option is available. Does AutoCAD have a Save As or perhaps an Export option that can be used to save the drawing in some standard image format? If it can be saved as or exported as a .tif or .png image (both of which are lossless formats) then use that option to save the drawing. PSP can open and edit those file formats. It can also open many more formats, a common one being .jpg but that one does produce some data loss/degradation of the original image.

Re: PSP 2018 keeps crashing
Thanks for the reply.
These are the files that I can export to:
*. SAT, .STL, .EPS, .DXX, .BMP, and .3DS.
These are the"save as files" that are available.
*.DWT, and .DXF.
It wasn't such a short walk. It would drive me crazy.
Today, I created another PDF file using the same procedure as above. I opened it in PSP 2018And had no problems editing it. Must be, the gremlins were asleep today.

Re: PSP 2018 keeps crashing
Just in case you run into future problems, PSP can open EPS (Encapsulated Post Script) files and BMP bitmaps.
