VS 2018 .mov file import crashes program

Post by manticore »

Hello,
as the title suggest as soon as I try to import a file with the .mov extension I get the following error:

Assetion failed!

Program: ...\corel videostudio pro x8\vio\uvqt.vio
File: QtSim.cpp
Line: 1661

Expression: !"[x64] need QuickTime for Windows 64-bit SDK!! GetMovieUserData() is called."

I tried the fixes that are flying around the forum like only installing the QT essentials and copying the QTCF.dll into my Windows folder but nothing has worked for me yet.

Help is very much appreciated.

Does the .mov file play in windows? Would you post program or camera that created the .mov file what are the properties (use Mediainfo or other similar program). Does X8 fail, and if so is a dialog popped up? If so what does the dialog say?

This may be another instance of missing quicktime codecs causing problems with .mov files.
See this thread for an explanation, and description of how to fix: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=63420

Disregard that latter. Misread the first post.
