downloaded trial version of VideoStudio 2018 and...

Post by carlos6466 »

I can't save the file... when I click on the start button, nothing happens. I'm interested in this software so I can color correct videos I take while scuba diving, but if I can't test out a sample, I won't buy it. Please advise if the trial version does not allow a video I edited to be saved. thanks, --carlos

Welcome to the forum.

When you refer to the start button, I assume you mean the button that starts the render of a project rather than starting the program as a whole? If so, it depends on what output format you have selected. The trial version has some limitations and can only, as far as I am aware, output to a limited range of formats. So what format are you trying to produce?

I chose .mp4 but tried the others, too. The software does not render the project when I hit the start button. I can totally accept a trial version that is limited and even with a watermark, but since I have only had the software for one day, I have to have some way to evaluate the software before purchasing it.

I've also followed the guides on the available help pages. The software version is current.

Any other options I can try?

Hmmm... I thought mp4 was the one that would work. Did you try wmv? I ask since one of the limitations in the trial version has to do with licensing fees Corel has to pay to the owners of plug-ins and codecs. So they cut most of these out of the trial version. wmv of course comes as part of Windows so does not, as far as I am aware, attract a licensing fee...
