With Windows 7 and Video Studio X7, I was able to encode with XVID properly about 1 out of 10 times. I have yet to get X10 to encode with XVID properly.
Back X7, I observed that when the XVID Status display appears when encoding is started, it would end up rending what appears to be a blank file. If the XVID Status doesn't appear, it would encode properly. With X10, the XVID Status always seems to appear.
Is there anything I can do differently to get XVID to work better with Video Studio?
Thanks!

Why is XVID so important to you? It seems the video world has moved to mp4 and newer versions of that.

XVID has proven to provide amazing results when it works properly. I've looked into other mp4 solutions, but they seem to have restrictions on framerate or have requirements to use.

Re: Problems encoding with XVID.
I don't do XVID but I do have it. I myself prefer WMV which has less noise than mp4
What Xvid ver do you use? with what internal encoding settings?
**I'm rendering now my latest project to XVID, let's see how it will turn.
***No problem here, so I'm 1 from 1 to yours 1 from 10.
Xvid 1.3.4

Re: Problems encoding with XVID.
I just re-installed XVID 1.3.5 after trying XVID 1.3.4 without the problem being fixed. Messed with what seems to be a redundant place to change video settings called Project Settings, but the same problem.
Tested the same VSP to make an AVC/H264 file which works, processes all the edits, but seems to be restricted to 29.97 FPS.
Trying XVID again, I discovered that the file produced isn't "blank", but contains the audio from the file I'm trying to edit, without the edits I indicated in Video Studio. Very strange. O_o

Re: Problems encoding with XVID.
You might not be able to solve this directly. I wonder if x264vfw might work for you. It is on SourceForge. I have found it works well with VideoStudio.
