Why is my Video Studio Pro x10 freezing ??
Why is my Video Studio Pro x10 freezing when I try to make a simple video.??
Is this program capable of working correctly?
This year I upgraded from X7 to X10 which immediately updated to X10.5. I noticed then that it was hanging occasionally, but now after any attempt at an edit, such as adding a photo or clip it now completely freezes, and it also crashes and I am informed that windows will tell me if it finds a solution !!..
I have reset the library as advised by one source, now I am considering updating QUicktime also as advised.
I am trying to make a music video containing me music and me singing... nothing too complicated, but the program hangs and hangs constantly, I have resorted to saving my work, restarting the program and using it again for a few minutes before it hangs again.
This is extremely frustrating and I am now behind schedule in producing my video. Can anyone here help?
I am on the verge of abandoning it and buying another program, but I don't have the money fpr this and it means learning a new program, I just don't have the time for this, does anyone at Corel have a solution?
My set up is below.:
COREL VIDEOSTUDIO ULTIMATE X10

Windows 10 Pro 32 Bit
Motherboard - Z97-PRO WIFI-AC usb 3.1
CPU Intel Core i7-4770K @ 3.50Ghz

Graphics Nvidia GTX 750 Ti
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for providing the computer specs, though I noticed that they said you are using Win 10 while your Profile says Win 7. Whatever the case, it would also be extremely useful if you could tell us the Properties of the video you are using in the project and the format you are wanting to render to. It might also be useful to know what video camera you are using.
To get the Properties, right click on a clip in either the timeline or library window and copy ALL its Properties here, or take a screen grab of the Properties box and upload it here as an Attachment.

Re: Why is my Video Studio Pro x10 freezing ??
Hi,
Yes I am now using WIndows 10 a recent upgrade, though it did not occur to me to come back to the forum and update my details for that reason. I thought it suffice to include it with my post as much of my hardware and Corel software is now also upgraded.
Regarding the videos I am using I made some with my webcam "Logitech Webcam PRO C920 Full HD", and some were just clips from around the net for background effects. Properties attached.
I want to render the final edit to an .MP4 file, but have not got past the editing yet due to the freezing.
I would also like to include some still photos with the clips but haven't got around to adding the videos yet. Its taking so much time.
Regards,
Davy

Re: Why is my Video Studio Pro x10 freezing ??
The program freezes/hangs even when you add a photo to the timeline? If this is correct, I conclude you need to clean-up the current installation and re-install. After uninstalling, use the cleanup program for x10 posted in the fourum; read that post for instructions.
If the hanging is only with the video clip, then please make some short sample video available in a sharing site like Google Drive that causes the hang so we can try it.

Re: Why is my Video Studio Pro x10 freezing ??
Thanks for your input,
The program was freezing after doing anything that could be called editing, moving clip, adding video, adding music. Anything at all was followed by a unusable delay where I could not continue with my work.
I uninstalled the program as per your advice but now, and now I cannot re-install it. I used the cleanup program and tried to re-install it but only got the message below, it was trying to install it on the desktop so I redirected it to the Corel folder in in "program Files" where it belongs.
So now I do not have anything as it will not install, After I closed that message another message appeared saying the program had indeed installed, but when I tried to run it from the start menu I was told that the program was not there and to contact technical support.
SO now I ask is this forum run by Corel Technical support staff or is this a user run forum?, I am asking who to contact next as I have a desperate problem here that needs expert guidance.
Thanks for you help.

Bad news. You are going to need Corel support to help. I had this problem and they controlled my pc to get it to install. Your problem may be similar.

Re: Why is my Video Studio Pro x10 freezing ??
I emailed them and was advised to disable windows firewall and my Antivirus, also to uncheck the 10.5 update option... still did not work, so waiting for a reply again .. also tried the Live chat, that is also slow.
And still have not managed to "RE"-install it yet.

Re: Why is my Video Studio Pro x10 freezing ??
No I did not see that before but I have read it now, I did a quick look on my system and I disabled those .NET updates. But still had the same problem after.
Interestingly I just had a webchat with Corel Customer support, even though they had my complete system details (WIndows 10, 32 bit), they just informed me that Video Studio Ultimate X10 only runs on a 64 bit system !, this is news to me as I have been running it on my 32 bit system for more that 3 months!
No One at Corel has ever mentioned this before even at the time of purchase.
Please see attachment (methinks) someone does not know what they are talking about!
Anyway, they had escalated my problem but will need to wait another 24/48 hours.

That Customer Support rep doesn't know 32-bit is supported as you can show in that dialog box. That is not the problem. Too bad that .net issue is not the solution.
