X9 icons

Post by dundana »

I finally got X9 to run for a few minutes before locking up, only to discover that the icons have changed from the icons I know from PSP8. Some, like the ones in the layer palette are too tiny to see in the screen and have no print explanation when I hover the cursor.

Where can I see a picture of all the X9 icons and a print explanation of each?

It sounds like you're talking about the tooltips not showing when you cursor over an icon/button. I see the tooltips in my PSP versions and I don't recall ever having to change any preferences for them to show up. Perhaps others will know if there is some specific way to make them appear.

The tool tips to the left show a print title (and they're pretty much what I'm used to) when I bring the cursor over them. But the icons on the layers palette are giving me problems. I'm used to working with 10 or more layers, and I'm having difficulty trying to figure out the tiny icons.

I'm one of the oldies whose use of PSP is 95% for graphics work. I'll probably be back with other questions, if I can keep X9 from locking up on the scripting error. I spent quite some time yesterday trying to figure out where some of my colour depth options seem to have disappeared to, but I'm not ready to give up on that yet.

I'm not quite sure what the problem is that you're having with the icons in the Layers palette because I also get tooltips describing each icon when I mouse over the icons. Attached is a screenshot of a portion of my layers palette showing a tooltip, and one of my settings in Preferences>General Program Preferences>Palettes if that's any help to you. You can change the size of the layer thumbnails using the lower box on the right if you want them to be larger. Or you can change the size of the thumbnail preview that you get when you mouse over the layer in the layers palette using the upper box on the right. Or do both if that helps you. :-)

On another note, I replied to your post in the JavaScript error thread, but don't know is you will find my comments there helpful or not.
