With previous versions of VideoStudio up to and including X10.5, if you right click a colour from the graphic library then select Insert To, it would put it in the timeline. But in 2018 it comes up with box saying 'Encountered an Improper Argument'. Although if I drag the colour to the timeline it works.
Another problem which sometimes appears when sharing with AVC/H.264 that I get is this:
Any idea's on this one?
Corel now installs Haali Media Splitter and after I close VideoStudio 2018 it shows multiple icons on the status line of Haali running but if you place the mouse pointer on them they disappear. I've had experiences with Haali causing problems with other video editors and viewers in the past and I'm not sure if this is causing these issues as described above.
I have re-installed 2018 three times now to no avail. None of these symptoms occur in X10.5.
I know you're not employees of Corel but I was just wondering if any other user's have experienced these issues before I contact Corel.
Thanks

Re: Encountered an Improper Argument
This sounds like a bug, but click the Ignore button and it should continue without any problems. You should report this to Corel.

Re: Encountered an Improper Argument
Thanks Aljimenez, I will do that but I wanted to check if it was just me or are others experiencing any of these issues.

Re: Encountered an Improper Argument
Just to update you, this was fixed by Corel's suggestion of installing/repairing the C++ 2012 redistributables. I wonder if we need all these files, I have 20 Microsoft C++ redistributables ranging from 2005 to 2015.
The Haali Media icon issue was fixed by going into Haali Media Splitter settings and disabling the Task Menu icon display.

Re: Encountered an Improper Argument
I think it's a VS bug, rather than just corrupted C++ redistributables. Or possibly both.
I have X8, X9, X10 and 2018 all Ultimate, and installed on the same win 7 PC. And while I normally click and drag a colour to the track I want it to be in, I tried this 'insert to' method in all of them, using the same colour inserted to the timeline (open VS, select graphic/colour, rt click on tan and choose insert to timeline)
For Vs2018, I got an improper argument error, but no details in the message, per this screenshot However, for every other version the insert_colour_to_timeline worked without a hitch.
All tests done without re-booting and the only delay was to allow one VS to terminate in the OS before starting the next/different version. So if it was a corrupted re-distributable, other versions should have encountered the same error. This is a cropped list of the C++ redistributables on my PC taken from control panel/programs and features page: and you'll notice that those for 2012 onwards (5) were either installed or re-installed on 3/2/2018, which was the date I installed VS 2018. All the Vs versions I have (listed) were released after that last C++redistributable 2015. Hence my sceptism that this is just a corrupted re-distributable issue - if it was, all of the VS versions I have should be giving the same error for the same function - and they don't.

Re: Encountered an Improper Argument
This error has not returned so far but I haven't used any of the other versions of VS Ultimate yet. I too have X8, X9.5 and X10.5 installed on the same PC, again all Ultimate versions. There seems to be other issues with VS2018 Ultimate being posted which have not been present in X10.5.
