transferring library folders from X10 to Ultimate 2018

Post by Dale 2018 »

Is there a way to transfer my library folders from X10 to U2018 or is it necessary to do each manually ? Didn't happen at install and X10 no longer opens.

Hello Dale,

Welcome to the forums. The answer is yes, but first you must open VS X10.

You can only run one version of VideoStudio at a time, so please ensure that you have closed VS 2018. Allow a few seconds to pass before attempting to open X10.

Once VS X10 is open, select:

<Settings> <Library Manager> <Export Library>

A box will now open to allow you to save your library to a folder. I highly recommend that you create a new folder and give it a suitable name. As I use this feature a few times, I use a setup similar to below:

C:\Users\User Name\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\Library\X10 2018-03-14

This part of the process only takes a few moments.

Close VideoStudio X10. Give it a few moments, then open VideoStudio 2018. Then select:

<Settings> <Library Manager> <Import Library>

This part may take a little while but don't panic.

Thank you for the quick reply. After thinking about it, I decided to make new library folders and change the content in each since my projects are changing. Also, with X10 it is my first video editing software and most of the library content is centered around tutorials I finished with Corel and with Studio Backlot training. Again thank you for the quick reply. Dale

That's Ok.

In the ideal world, you'd be able to have lots of meaningful folders, but this isn't the case.

The way the folders can be used though is to set them up for a specific project. When that project is completed you can reset them and move on. However before you reset the, save the media folders as described above. Then should you need to return you can save them for the project you're currently working on, reset them, then import the folders from the previous project.
