Re: Wall Art Fun
@Teamouse,
First, I have tried it and it is a nice effect. Thanks.
But have you not yet read the posts by me and @hartpaul in your Kodalith thread? If you have, then could you please explain why you are still posting with reference to the PPI of images to be used with your scripts. Because if you read the comments then you must be well aware that anything to do with PPI settings for images are completely irrelevant and that PPI has no effect on whether or not a script (or other procedure) will create the desired output and it is only pixel content that matters. "Inches" only applies to print size. It is completely irrelevant to a graphic editing program, which only considers pixels.
And that said, whatever the PPI setting is in an image, then that is the PPI information that a printer will use in printing the image. Therefore, the comment here about the shadow layer being able to maintain a PPI different from the PPI of the original image simply does not make sense. All layers in an image are considered part of the image and there can only be one PPI setting at a time for any image.
So if you have some reason for continuing to associate PPI with the instructions in your posts we would be interested in hearing what that reason is. Because continuing to include that information as if it is relevant can end up being confusing to some people who might be relatively new to graphic editing and not realize exactly what PPI is and why it is irrelevant in these situations.
EDIT: And in the event anyone is unsure of exactly what PPI is, here is a link to a description about it I did in another thread in the main forum:

Re: Wall Art Fun
@Teamouse,
I wasn't suggesting that you delete all of the information you provided about the script! Most of that was really useful and I think your script users - myself included - would appreciate it.
All I was suggesting was that you don't bother adding information about using the script on images with any specific PPI setting, because that might make some users think that it was necessary to change that resolution. If there is a maximum or minimum or optimum pixel size that works best for the script then, of course, that's also good info to provide. It's just not helpful - and can be confusing - if information regarding print size (inches) and PPI is used to try to set parameters for the type of image that works best.
So I hope you didn't misunderstand my meaning or intent. There's no need to go from one extreme to another, eh? Or, to use another cliché, throw out the baby with the bathwater?

Not much of a background, but thought the script worked well with this. From my son's recent Asia/Africa trip.

Re: Wall Art Fun
You could copy the original image and paste it in the background layer and do a zoom blurr.
Nice image.

Re: Wall Art Fun
I'll try that. You previously had several other suggestions of what people could do with the script to have fun but I hadn't made specific note of what they were. Could you post those again? TIA.Teamouse wrote:You could copy the original image and paste it in the background layer and do a zoom blurr.
Nice image.
One thing I realize from a few experiments is that if you want to use the script then it forces you to critically examine your images to try and determine which ones have a composition that lends itself to the division into panels that retain and emphasize the important focal elements of the image. That's a good thing, because I - for one - could use the exercise of more critical examination of some of the images I have available.

Re: Wall Art Fun
Trying out a suggestion from @Teamouse, I used a Zoom Blur effect on a copy of my original image, which I modified to make the green blur visible top and bottom (otherwise the bottom of the zoomblur was just blue water with no zoom effect). Here's the result. While I do like the effect of the zoom blur as a background - and appreciate the hint to try some built-in effects to create backgrounds - for this image I find the background now too busy and distracting from the main photo compared to the bare bones background in my original post. Opinions welcome!

Re: Wall Art Fun
Soft grey with a texture selected over the white background layer.
Color #a0aebb
Texture: Wax caryon (if you have it.)
Got the color from blurring the image.
