Screen Capture Not Booting

Post by AshAngel »

I added a 3rd monitor and that is the only thing I know has changed since the last time I used the screen recorder I got with VideoStudio X8 but now I am unable to get the screen recorder to boot up. I try searching for the program and launch it from there like I always used to. Nothing happens. I tried to go to Capture in the videostudio program and went to screen capture there and once I click it, it minimizes the program for a moment, then brings it back up without running the screen capture at all.

Basically the screen capture program (X9, X10 and 2018 are the same as X8) is enabled for 2 screens - primary and a secondary. From your remarks, screen capture worked fine with 2 screens. And I am assuming that your windows installation is happy with 3 screens (my control panel/display detects only 1 screen but thats all I have connected).

So I think you'll find this is a limitation of the screen capture program (only 2 allowed). Test that - disconnect 1 screen, re-boot and start the screen capture program. If that works - hypthesis confirmed. You could contact Corel to verify, but X8 is long out of warranty.

If you really want to capture 2 screens when normally 3 are fitted, you'll have to be creative about which ones are in use for that.
