Hi
Normally when I add a video file to the time line it asks if i want to set the profile the same as the video file I just added, which I always say yes to.
However I'd like to have that same settings as a profile in VS, but I can't.
My video files are:
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 25 fps
Frame-based
H.264 High Profile Video: 23439 Kbps, 16:9
48000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 128 Kbps
But the best profile I can set is:
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 25 fps
Frame-based
H.264 High Profile Video: 20000 Kbps, 16:9
48000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 128 Kbps
20000 seems to be the maximum I can set.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a limitation?
Thanks

What do you mean by "set"? Is the 20 Mbps template one of the preset ones, or did you choose Customize, choose mpeg-4 as the base, and set its properties?MikesMovies wrote:But the best profile I can set
While 23,349 kbps seems to be a rather quixotic figure to use as a profile. you can in fact establish a video template for future use with those exact properties. In VS Settings > Movie Profile Manager when the dialogue box opens ignore 'New' and click on 'Add'. On the new dialogue box which appears. Click the '...' button beside the File Path window at the top, and navigate to where your clip with those exact properties is located, and select it. Its file path will now appear in that window. Then fill in the next Profile Name window with a name you will remember. Ok out of that box and Close the original box.
Next time you want to make a video with those properties, go to Share > Customize and your new Profile will appear at the bottom of the drop down menu.
One note of caution: do not attempt to edit this new profile at all. If you do, it will revert to a standard definition, rock standard DVD profile and you would have to establish a new profile with those properties.

Re: Can't set kbps the same as camera video
Thanks Ken, when I have selected 'new' and added a new profile it won't let me set a data rate of more than 20000.
I'll give your idea a go and see what happens.
Thanks
