Can't see .arw files in AfterShot Pro 3

Post by mfeather »

Hi all,

First post on this forum. I am able to see .arw files (taken with my Sony Cybershot RX10M4) in Corel PaintShop Pro 2018. However, AfterShot Pro 3 only loads the .jpg files (shot in parallel with the .arw images). I suck in a deep breath and ask, is it possible that the .arw form of RAW is not supported by AfterShot Pro 3? If I should be able to see them, any suggestions as to what to do? If AfterShot Pro 3 does not yet support these .arw files, can I get around it by saving .arw files as .raw in PaintShop (without loss of information)?

Thanks!

EDIT: I am running Windows 7.

you need to install the correct camera profile in order to see the raw files. You can download the profiles here: http://learn.corel.com/aftershot-pro-downloads/ If there isn't one fitting your camera you might be able to edit an existing profile, I used the fuji x-t2 profile for my x-t20. The profiles are zip archives containing files describing the camera, I just had to change the model name and file name I recall, had to play around a bit. There are some old threads in this forum that could help.

Thank you very much, Rob2000. They have the camera profile for the Sony RX10M3 as a single (not zipped) afzcam file, but not RX10M4. I tried the RX10M3. Not surprisingly, it didn't work, so I'd like to try editing the M3 profile. I have no idea how to open an afzcam file so as to carry out the edits, so I'm hoping you can point in the right direction. Thanks again!

Hi mfeather, you need to rename the file to .zip instead of .afzcam, then you can unpack the archive and you will see the files.

Thank you rob2000. I unzipped the file, changed extensions to .txt, changed all "M3" to "M4", changed extensions back to their originals, re-zipped the files and changed that extension to .afzcam. However, I get an error message when trying to to import that zipped/.afzcam file into AfterShot Pro. Is this not the way to go about it? Thanks!
