VS2018 Newblue titler and Boris Title Studio missing

I did just purchause an upgrade for my Videostudio ultimate X10.5 to Visualstudio ultimate 2018. I did delete the previous software with all it's plugins and proceeded to install the new software with all it's components. On the first run the application fires the following error:

After clicking ok the application crashes and closes, on a second run attempt, the application succeeds to run but it's missing the Newblue Titler pro and the Boris Titler in the FX tab (all other effects appears to be correctly installed). I did try to uninstall and reinstall, also by changing the system's installation folder without success.
The Newblue titler is available as standalone installation, but it should be also available in the effects pane, and it's not.
Did anyone encounter such issues with these plugins?

Before doing anything else, please go to C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 2018\vft_plug and check to see if these two files are listed there:

BCCTitleStudio.vft (Boris Titler)
Titler20.vft (New Blue Titler)

If they are there, then go to C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64) and change the name of the 21.0 folder there to something like 21.0_OLD. Then restart VS 2018.

It will take some time to open as it is recreating that folder and its associated databases. But once VS is open, then hopefully Boris and New Blue Titler will be there.

Thank you very much for your quick reply, I did try that, both files are available in my installation folder, so I did change the folders as you suggested. Running the software again will result in the same error as the one I receive during my very first run:

So there's actually a problem loading these modules in Videostudio, i guess.

I did remove the Titler20.vft and the software runs perfectly with Boris titler, so the problem resides in the newblue titler!

NB TP5 loads (albeit slow at first) on my computer just fine. It's something on your computer causing the issue or a faulty installation.
You should have a VS2018 folder on your desktop.
VideoStudio2018\64bit\BonusFeature\PlugIns_X64
And try running NewBlueTitlerPro5ForCorel.exe again and if it asks to Repair, Modify, choose Modify. It will reinstall it.

I should have asked this question earlier, but are you using .mov video clips in your project? If so, then that error msg tends to indicate you don't have the Quicktime (QT) codec installed. It is necessary for VS to be able to see and edit mov files.

Apple has discontinued support for its Quicktime for Windows. The vulnerability was apparently in the QT player, but that is not needed by VS, and you can still download just the codec. You can get it at https://support.apple.com/kb/DL837?view ... cale=en_GB

After installation starts, you will be presented with a box (see attached image). Make sure all the parts marked with a X are the same in your box, leaving only Quicktime Essentials without an X. That is the codec and is safe

Thank you Ken, but no, the problem doesn't rely in the project, the very NewBlue Titler doesn't load at startup, I did already tried to contact Corel and NewBlue, they thought it was a machine problem. Now I am encountering(after the installation of the ServicePack 2) this very issue on another machine. Therefore I'm going to open a new ticket as soon as possible, or ask for a refund.

You are not alone on the newblue titler fiasco. I installed Corel videostudio 2018 around end of March 2018, and never succeeded to have the newblue titler pro 5 for Corel installed. And it is not Corel's fault, that I am pretty sure now. In fact Corel went to great lengths to try to install the newblue titler on my pc by taking it over on a special session on 2 separate occasions by 2 different people, each time some one more knowledgeable. In the end they just ftp'd a vtf file to one of the Corel folders, this made it possible to use titler pro 5, but with a watermark, which is understandable as we were never able to install, nor input a serial. I just accepted the fact it would not install on my system as I already had a standalone copy of titler pro 5 working on my pc thanks to a prior purchase of vegas pro 15 suite (so I could use titler stand alone or in Vegas without watermark). But here the story does not end. I just got a nice discount on upgrading to newblue titler pro 6, so I thought this may install on Corel as well. But to my horror it could not install on my system. I start installation and nothing happens. (looking in the windows log files I get something like "the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)". So no Corel, No Vegas, no standalone, nothing nada. I thought maybe this is because I have titler 5 installed (on Vegas and as stand alone), but to my second horror, I could not uninstall the newblue titler pro 5 (same error). I even tried booting windows 10 into safe mode to try to install/uninstall, but this did not help. I have windows 10 pro 1709. I have a ticket running with newblue.

Update on the newblue titler 5 not installing on Corel 2018 on windows 10 (and possibly any other newblue install/uninstall issues)
I just solved my issue! I spend the last 2 days searching why it would not install on my PC.
The culprit in my case was windows own Defender settings. Although Norton Security is active, windows defender still seem to be active in a few areas, and strangely enough booting in safe mode still seem to have defender active. So if you have install problems, open windows defender, next APPS and browser control, check that everything is "warn", next dive into Exploit protection settings (and here was my issue), put everything on by default, except Force randomization for images (Mandatory ASLR), put that one off by default.

It is a mystery to me why some users have problems yet others do not.
I also have Defender, Windows 10 etc.

I have not purchased any NB filters, all I have is part of Video Studio.

For those, the files should be installed through the program, by that either from the Web Installer or running the Bonus Features by running setup_Bonus.exe file.
If you choose to install the individual files from the Plug-in folder then you will/ may experience the request to provide a serial number or asked to activate the plugin, for some but not all.
Install the entire package not individual plug-ins.

I cannot comment on purchased filters, as I say I don’t own any of those.

@lata I do not install individual pieces for fun, running the bonus feature, web, or total setup always failed in the newblue install, and that is why the corel technician tried to directly copy this in the proper place as all else failed. He was out of idea's and did not know the true issue. This was not Corel's fault but a nasty piece of perfectly normal windows setting in windows defender.
I do not remember if I changed these settings myself in the past (in view of the specter/meltdown security debacle) or it was windows default. It seems that not all APPS or program install/uninstall .exe have issues with my particular setting, but the Newblue installer/uninstallers certainly do. I hope someone can benefit form this.
And by the way now titler 6 also installs on my system. I think newblue should revise their installers/uninstallers .exe to cope with Force randomization for images (Mandatory ASLR) in windows defender, other apps do not have an issue with that ...

I realise you are having problems and I do feel sorry for that.
I was just saying that installing Corel plugins individually can / does mess-up the activation, running the FX filter would then ask for a serial number and in some cases ask for us to purchase.
This would not happen when installing the Bonus Features as a complete package.

I have just re-installed my 2018 just to make sure the latest installation files are working ok.
I had no problems in doing that, I did note that the Cleanup Tool for 2018 is much improved and appears to removes all installed items, MyDVD + Contents, 3DTE, BCC are also uninstalled. That was not the case for earlier Cleanup tools that simply removed the program.

Thanks for the Defender info, I did view my Defenders settings with all showing as “Warn”
