VS10 freezing with FX tools

Hi
I am unable to do any color correction with the color fixer FX tool as the pop-up window takes +15 seconds to respond to any mouse action - like using the slider etc ...
CPU utilization is none - so its not that VS is doing something .. it just sits there refusing to accept any mouse inputs ... I've tried many times relaunching but no use I just gave up in frustration each time ... what can be the problem?
