rendering 4k60 video
My ultimate pro 8 won't open the video saying an improper file format neither would it open the 2.7k video which Win.7 Movie Maker had no trouble with!
How do I process this video from my Yi 4k+ action cam?
'would appreciate any help!

Re: rendering 4k60 video
You say it is 4K video, but what are its exact Properties -- if the video is in the VS library window, can you right click one of the clips and copy ALL its properties here please, or else take a screen shot of the Properties box and upload it here as an Attachment.
I'm asking about this because sometimes VS has difficulty with unusual frame sizes used by some action cameras. It also has difficulty if the camera uses a variable frame rate, though you say yours is "4K60". But it would be useful to confirm that it is a constant 60i or 60p, and not vary above or below that (although 59.94 fps is correct if the Properties show that).

Re: rendering 4k60 video
I don't think Version 8 handled just plain 4K, never mind 60fps. You should try upgrading to VS 2018; buy it and if it does not work, get a refund.

Re: rendering 4k60 video
I render 4k, 360 video with VS 2018 and no problems. Do as suggested above. Technology changes faster than the weather today.

Re: rendering 4k60 video
No -- "VS 2018" is the recently released new version of Video Studio. In effect it is X11, though renamed 'VS 2018' by Corel. You could always download the trial version to see if your video works in it -- though the trial versions has some limitations. If you bought the upgrade to VS 2018 and find you are unhappy with it, you can request a refund within 30 days of your purchase.
But it would still be useful to have the information I requested above.

Re: rendering 4k60 video
Hi, again
I have downloaded the trial of VS 2018 and it too doesn't like the MP4 that the Yi 4k + camera records in. I don't know if it is 60i or 60p, but my other cam ,an Sjcam Sj7, renders to HD its 4k.30 fps as advertised, just like my ultimate 8 pro. I've found that DIVX can fill that gap. Thanks!
Update: I've downloaded and installed the service packs one and three recommended on the Corel update site for ultimate x 8 and the message, file format mismatch , still arises when I try to import the 4k60/30 video from the Yi action cam!

Re: rendering 4k60 video
I don't have X8, but if you upload a small Yi 4K 60P to the cloud, I will try and see if it comes into VS2018 Ultimate... the version I have.

Re: rendering 4k60 video
Thank you, but I have downloaded the 2018 trial and it gives the same mismatched file format message that my x8 does. There's a quirk in the Yi technology video file! I've had no difficulty working with video from my three other action cams, one filming 4k/30.
