UI Problem: 2 fewer tracks are visible in X11 v X10
One immediate difference between VS X11(2018) and X10 is that the height of the tracks have increased so that it makes editing multi-track projects more difficult because one can see fewer tracks. The following image shows how 2 fewer tracks are visible in X11(only 5 tracks visible) vs. X10 (7 tracks visible):
Is it possible to reduce the width of the tracks in X11 to the size that they were in X10?
Thanks,

Ummm... Have you hovered your mouse over any of the border lines between tracks? You should get upward/downward pointed arrows which allow you to adjust the height of individual tracks by dragging them up or down. And you can add more, just as you could with previous versions.
You can also change the size allocated to the preview window/library pane vertically, and the preview screen horizontally as well, in a similar way.

Ummm, click the Show All Visible Tracks toggle icon at the far left of the time readout line and above the column of track on/off toggle icons.

In my VS 2018, I can't reduce them in height lower than the default size by dragging.Ken Berry wrote:You should get upward/downward pointed arrows which allow you to adjust the height of individual tracks by dragging them up or down.
That does it.gewb wrote:click the Show All Visible Tracks toggle icon

No, but why would you want to? On my 32" monitor the default size is small enough as it is. But you can certainly make it larger by using that mouse hover/arrow method, and you can drag it back upwards towards the default size if you overdo it...tletter wrote:In my VS 2018, I can't reduce them in height lower than the default size by dragging.

Ken -
I have the same resize issue as tletter - I can increase a row height but not decrease it (AMD and Intel, both Win7).

Do you mean you can't reduce it back to the default size once you have increased it? Or just that you can't make the default size smaller? I can't do the latter either -- but think it was designed that way. But I can certainly do the former -- but NOT with 'Show all visible tracks' selected.

^^^ This, which is how I interpreted the original post issue. Not saying what is right/wrong or as designed, just the question. I use the Show toggle icon and just roll with it.Ken Berry wrote:Or just that you can't make the default size smaller?

Re: UI Problem: 2 fewer tracks are visible in X11 v X10
I don't have a 32" laptop nor would I want one even if I could afford it and on my 15" laptop the track height was too large in VS 2018 as explained and illustrated.Ken Berry wrote:On my 32" monitor the default size is small enough as it is.
Yes but the requirement was to reduce the track height as explained. GEWB offered a solution that does what I needed.Ken Berry wrote:But you can certainly make it larger by using that mouse hover/arrow method
