Import Library

Post by dumbdumber »

I've just installed x10 Ultimate. I exported library from x9 and saved it in a new folder, but when I go to import nothing happens, it all freezes up and in Windows Task Manager it says Videostudio not responding. I then renamed the folder and tried to import it into x9 (to see if it's problem with x10), but I get the same. Am I doing something wrong with the Export Library? I made a new folder and clicked on settings, library manager, export library, so not sure what I'm doing wrong?

Hi

I have just tried exporting my X9 library then import to x10 with no problems.

Make sure your X9 library has all clips in tact that no clip is requesting a Re-link.
Then try again.

I am running 64 bit, I notice you use 32 bit not sure if that will make a difference, unless others running 32 bit can test this ?

I've now partly got around the problem. I dragged the clips to timeline in x9 and saved as VSP, then opened the project in x10 and dragged the clips up to library.

Hi

Is your X9 installed as 32 bit with X10 installed as 64 bit

Or are both installed as 64 bit?

If they are mixed it may be the cause of the library import problem?

Post updated, just noticed your last reply
Yes that would be a workround to transfer the clips.
