I bought Videostudio Ultimate X9 from the corel website in July 2016. However, I got a piracy notice just recently. The serial number and date show up in the registered products section of my account, but I contacted support and they said the serial number isn't a corel-generated serial number. Also, in the orders section of my account, nothing shows up.
I'm afraid something might have went wrong when I moved to my new computer, but that was over a year ago.
Piracy Notice?

Re: Piracy Notice?
Hi Timmy
Do you still have the e-mail sent to you when you purchased the program along with your serial number.
I would have thought that the serial number showing on your registered products was correct and created by Corel
If you manually registered I would think the process would check your serial number as correct before allowing you to register.
Seems strange what is going on
Do you have CVSX9 installed on your pc?
Help – About will show most of your serial number except for the last set of digits.
Does that number correspond to your registered number?

Yes I have Corel Video Studio X9 currently installed.
The number shown in Help - About is the same serial number I see on the website.

Hi Timmy
It appears your Corel details are correct, I don’t understand Corals response to you.
Not sure about this Privacy notice, I don’t suppose it was a “spam mail” ????
I assume it to be an e-mail and not a popup that we love to hate.
One way to prove that everything is ok is to re-install X9, but why fix when its not broken.
When you moved to the new PC you would have installed X9 again, and it obviously worked then….

I'll try reinstalling videostudio.
It is a popup that shows up when I open the program, not an email.

Re: Piracy Notice?
So it turns out I bought videostudio with a different corel account. But the serial number is still the same, so it really confuses me why Corel support said it wasn't a legitimate serial number. At least I have some proof of purchase now.lata wrote:Hi Timmy
