Worse, PD 15 no longer opens. So I am now totally mystified... and join totally the ranks of the PD dispossessed...!
Anyway, after the above, I then installed the CyberLink Action and Color Director programs which came with the PD bundle. They are stand-alone, and they both opened after installation. So obviously they are not affected by the VS/PD conflict...
I have to confess, though, that I won't for the moment be uninstalling VS 2018 as it is my main video editor. I have bought successive versions of PD mainly to check it against VS, particularly with video that VS has difficulties editing or rendering. I acknowledge, though, that others might use PD more regularly. And if, as seems likely from Walt's experience, VS has played a role in disabling other aspects of our computer life, then it will be serious indeed.
