When I open the fonts list, this is what I see
I'm tired of keep scrolling down to my most used fonts.
I checked dozen other windows apps that has fonts list non has all those @fonts on the top.
I can't delete them as windows wont let me (system fonts).
I the win fonts folder these are Korean fonts and marked as hide,
hence I guess are not shown in all other well programed apps.
What do you say?
what is your top fonts?

Re: what is your top fonts?
Hmmmm... I've lot looked at that since installing 2018. I've never seen those fonts before though I have the same as you! I know I installed a font pack from DoMore the other day (I think it was DoMore_Title_01 which despite being called Title was actually a font pack). However, normally installed fonts appear in the general Windows\Fonts folder, and that folder doesn't contain any of those fonts at all. It's list starts, as it 'always' (?) has with Academy Engraved...
Mind you (a sort of pun), down under the letter Y in that same list, rather than starting with @, there are seven fonts starting with Yu and all a subset of Gothic, which I also don't recall ever seeing before. None of the other fonts starting with @, however, seem to be there under their alphabetic starting letter... But when I look again at the Windows\Fonts folder, there are also no fonts starting with Yu!
It also seems a little strange that they are linked to Korean. I would have thought that if there was to be some Asian link it would be to Chinese or Japanese. Yet none of those fonts are pictograms/kanji but European alphabet...
I might ask Corel about them, and will report back...

One of my boxes has 31 "@" fonts listed.

Re: what is your top fonts?
Ken, I guess you don't have/need any non roman fonts.
As I need to have not just non roman but also RTL typing I have to open windows to all sort of "misbehaving" things.
I think I might have to boot to a "tweaking" OS and simply delete all these fonts from the folder and the winsxs folder.
As I don't expect Corel to fix this.

Re: what is your top fonts?
According to here, https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/oldnew ... 0/?p=7093/, those are vertically oriented fonts, associated also with Japanese and Chinese characters.
I have posted a bug / request, with a few ideas:
- a means to hide those fonts, registry or other
- auto-scroll to user's frequently / last used font
- except when VS is installed in Asia, place the "@" fonts at the bottom of the list

Re: what is your top fonts?
Thanks Nick. Hopefully at least one of these comes to pass. Your first suggestion would probably be best for me, and I think, quite a few others. A bit like being able to hide the Scorefitter and Muserk folders.glus wrote:- a means to hide those fonts, registry or other

The second suggestion would probably be useful anyway, even if the @ fonts were gone or hidden. As you would be aware, at least some word processing programs have a compartment at the top of their font lists where the most used fonts appear. (I don't know what Corel's WordPerfect does, though...) This could be useful in VS, though I suspect many users (myself included) might use a variety of fonts for titles in any one project, selected for effect to match specific scenes. That could cause a rather large separate compartment to build up.
Your third suggestion might be the easiest to implement, coding-wise. I seem to recall that earlier versions of CorelDRAW that I have owned (from version 1 believe it or not, back in the early '90s!) have had Asian fonts, showing the actual kanji-like pictograms of Korean, Japanese and I think Chinese as well, at the bottom of DRAW's font list. I've just checked in my current DRAW version 17, though, and I just have the standard Windows fonts listed. I'll check in my Version 12 box as I think some of those Asian fonts came on separate discs in the DRAW package, and are list in the huge -- and hugely helpful -- program manual...

Nick, MS has this option, in the fonts folderglus wrote:According to here, https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/oldnew ... 0/?p=7093/, those are vertically oriented fonts, associated also with Japanese and Chinese characters.

All other software "understand" (I think) this hide but not VS as it's the only one that show them on my system.
so further study is needed.
The best solution will be user select of 20 fonts to a VS dedicated folder.
at least for the build in text editor.
the plugins will have to load the MS folder.

Re: what is your top fonts?
For those who downloaded the free graphics pack for Vs2018, there were a whole bunch of extra fonts included and some of those were these @ font types. Beyond that, because MS supports a font in a system folder does note require an application that uses fonts to support them all.
For a change to the list (Nicks post) a 'my favourites' item in lieu of, or in addition to, the 'hide' suggestion would also work.
