VS 2018 crashes on render with IntelGPU
I ran the new Corel VS 2018 without problems on my IntelCPU+NvidiaGPU PC, but after swapping out the Mainboard and CPU to an Intel+IntelGPU I can no longer get anything to render:
Faulting application name: vstudio.exe, version: 21.1.0.89, time stamp: 0x5a6b5f58
Faulting module name: igfxcmjit64.dll, version: 6.0.0.1189, time stamp: 0x579b07f9

Original system: Intel i7-6850K and Nvidia P1000 Quadro
New system: Intel i7-7700K and Intel HD Graphics 630
Driver Version: 21.20.16.4860
I should add that this is a Windows7-on-KabyLake hack so it is not supported by Wintel. But I should also mention that Magix Video Pro X renders just fine - with Intel HWA producing stunning results when compared to the previous setup (easily twice as fast). The system is very stable and everything not needed is disabled in MSCONFIG on startup. EDIT: Just tested Vegas v15 and it to renders about twice as fast on the Intel GPU than it did on the Nvidia (Using Intel QSV vs Nvidia). No crashes
I am curious to know if anyone has had this crash with the new Corel on any combo of Windows and Intel GPUHardware? And if so, can you tell me what versions of Windows and INtel Graphics driver you are running.
Thank you

Re: VS 2018 crashes on render with IntelGPU
Perhaps try reinstalling Corel VS 2018. Maybe it looks at the CPU/GPU when it's installing and configures itself accordingly. Could even be an anti-piracy thing, like the way Windows sometimes requires a re-activation if you change too many system components.

Thanks for the suggestion, tried that but same problem, still crashes out when I attempt to render:

The file igfxcmjit64.dll is the same version Intel has been using for two years in their graphics drivers. Weird.

Re: VS 2018 crashes on render with IntelGPU
One of your difficulties is that Kaby Lake only has Win 10 support, so it must be assumed that there could be some issues with Win 7
That aside,my laptop which has the HD Graphics 630, driver 22.20.16.4836 and the Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti, driver version 23.21.13.8816 has no problem rendering, but it is using Win 10

Re: VS 2018 crashes on render with IntelGPU
RobertOZ, while I agree that Kaby Lake technically only has Windows 10 support, many have demonstrated that the two work just fine. The "lack of support" is nothing more that mIntel (Microsoft and Intel minting it) strong-arming consumers into adopting the latest versions of their products (KL/CL and Win10). And as I pointed out I can render with IntelGPU acceleration happily with Vegas and VPX so the system is working fine.
I am curious - when you are rendering, which is the "active" GPU, the Nvidia or the Intel?

Re: VS 2018 crashes on render with IntelGPU
Try turning all hardware acceleration. They are in the Preferences dialog. I suspect this is the problem. If this works, try turning some of them on to determine where failure is. Then communicate this with Corel.

Re: VS 2018 crashes on render with IntelGPU
Yup - turning off HWA solves the problem but defeats the purpose. It is slower than slow itself. So Corel does not support IntelGPU Acceleration?

Re: VS 2018 crashes on render with IntelGPU
I have a Dell XPS13 laptop with Intel GPU and HWA works, so I don't think your conclusion is valid. Something is not working with your system. You may need to do some tweaks or see if Corel support can help.

Re: VS 2018 crashes on render with IntelGPU
Corel Support were unable to assist on this one. They had me delete, re-install, different profiles etc etc. So I have switched to Magix Video Pro X that works fine on Windows 7 with Kaby Lake - super fast render times with the iGPU.
Advice to users: If you want to use Corel on Kaby Lake or Coffee Lake you will need to upgrade to Windows 10 if you are still on Windows 7.

Re: VS 2018 crashes on render with IntelGPU
Sorry to update an old thread. I had this problem with Kaby Lake crashing on render. I have a Dell XPS 15 i9570. Everything rendered fine on my old Lenovo X220.
I tried what one of the users here suggested, but the OPPOSITE. I turned on all Hardware Acceleration in Preferences. So far, it seems to be working.
