Effects preview\effects browser
Is there a better way to preview the effects than to select each one off the drop down (at least three clicks every time times I lost count after 50)?? The effects browser is pathetic with those tiny pictures. Are they joking with this stuff? I found this similar comment from 2008 - http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... er#p340954 I can't believe 10 years later Corel hasn't done better than this. They could take a page from MS PowerPoint's "Artistic Effects" palette. One click pulls down a palette with each effects thumbnail. You HOVER over the effect and it previews on the image. And that's not even its primary function.

Re: Effects preview\effects browser
I was going to try to be useful, but every time I clicked on the Effects Browser the program crashed (3 x ), so am none the wiser.
PSPX9 and Windows 10.
Have never had it crashing before when clicking on the Effects Browser (which I have only ever clicked on out of curiosity).
Ergo, I blame Windows 10, it's not the first time it's messed up PSP.
But I digress, I agree, the Effects Browser is not a very good tool.
Mind you a lot of the effects aren't very good either.

Re: Effects preview\effects browser
It would be helpful if it had a "preview on image" check box.

Re: Effects preview\effects browser
Although I do not usually use Effects Browser in my PSPX9 under Windows 10, I did try it and it worked without problem but the thumbnails were too small to be of any use!

Re: Effects preview\effects browser
Changing the size of the effects browser thumbnails does help. However, the best answer would be if the browser acted just like some of the dialogues do - i.e., preview on image when you click the thumbnail. Even the largest thumbnail isn't good enough to see the effect properly as compared to seeing it on the much larger image.

Re: Effects preview\effects browser
Thank you Joelle!
I have never used Effects before, but a few effects looked interesting. Changing the Effects Browser Size to 250 has made a big deference. I can now sort of see what the effect will do and if I double click on the effect display it applies the effect to the active photo edit. If I like the effect all is good or if not I can do a CTRL Z to undo the effect. Before I changed the Effects Browser Size from 80 to 250, PSPX9 would lockup if I double clicked on the effect display. I would then have to use Task Manger to kill PSPX9. Now with the Effects Browser Size set to 250, all seems well. A check in Quick Render seems to work best.
Joelle thank you again.

You are very welcome
I have solved the crashing by restarting PSP using the Shift key, so we're both happy
