Corrupted files cannot be dropped.
Hi,
I have recently installed Ultimate 2018 and so far all is working fine with one exception.
On several occasions if I select a clip on the timeline and try to move it to a different position I get a box with "Corrupted files cannot be dropped". The clip I am moving then goes back to its point of origin. If I try it again, doing nothing different it works fine.
I have done a search and found that some people were getting this problem with Triple Scoop music in X8 but no one posted a fix for it that I can find.
Any help appreciated as it is annoying.
Thanks

I get this error message after running an analysis on a clip with Mercalli and then trying to drag and drop a new clip onto the timeline. Are you running Mercalli before the error message?mikeandm wrote:I get a box with "Corrupted files cannot be dropped".

Re: Corrupted files cannot be dropped.
Are you using Mask Creator on a clip on the top video track
If yes try applying Mask Creator to clips on the overlay track?
Strange that I was able to replicate the error, now trying again and things work ok?

Hi Trevor,
unfortunately I am not. Only re-arranging clips in a video.
Thanks

Re: Corrupted files cannot be dropped.
I managed to get the error message to show after applying the Mask Creator to the clip on the top track
A mask clip was automatically placed on the overlay track
I then tried dragging the top clip to the overlay track, showing as the white clip, I then got the error?
I was unable to replicate this problem, well not to order, I am sure it will appear again?

Re: Corrupted files cannot be dropped.
Hi Trevor,
it seems that this is a recurring event for different people when doing different jobs.
I have so far only got it when trying to move a clip to an earlier section of the same video. Once the warning comes up the clip reverts to its original position. I can then reselect it and move it when it works perfectly. All is then well and I can move clips around for a while until once more it does the same.
So far I have not been able to find out any one thing that triggers it.
Thanks Mike

Hi
I am having the same response as you although using Mask Creator
To be honest I have never seen this error before till I tested mask creator for another poster.

Re: Corrupted files cannot be dropped.
I get the same error repeatedly doing nothing but adding files to the timeline or overlapping them for transitions. This never happened with any other previous versions of the program and there is nothing wrong with the clips. Once I hit OK I can then repeat the same thing again without an error message.
I hope Corel locates the issue and updates the program.
OH while I am at it. I save my project EVERY time before quitting the program but on the next startup I get asked every time "Do you want to recover the previous project file?" What's up with this glitch? Anybody else experiencing this?

Re: Corrupted files cannot be dropped.
I'm getting the same message, " Corrupted files cannot be dropped". I was cutting some video into smaller segments, then if I try to drag a piece to the timeline below, the message comes up. No effects added at all. The work around is to copy and paste it or to drag it a second time. Never seen this before in all the VSP's I've had

Re: Corrupted files cannot be dropped.
It can also happen at random when dragging an FX onto a clip. This is unusual. I was trying to drag the Sharpen FX to a clip and it happened repeatedly until I got it to accept it.
