Is there a simple tutorial for installing Topaz into psp x9?
I followed the instructions but the plug-in does not register.
It worked before, but not now...

Re: Plug-ins
Which Topaz plug-in? Is it one that requires a license key or are you talking about Topaz Studio?
Here are some instructions:

Re: Plug-ins
By a stroke of luck and much fiddling around I got it to work. It is ReMask 5.
I still don´t know where the free plug-ins are which I got and downloaded when I registered my X9.
Any directions, please?

Re: Plug-ins
Are you referring to the KPT plug-ins? If so, did you run the exe file that you downloaded? The plug-ins are 32-bit and therefore can only be accessed in the 32-bit version of PSP under Effects -> Plug-ins -> KPT.

Re: Plug-ins
While speaking of freebies, another set of excellent filters which is now totally free are the Google Nik filters. These can be downloaded from https://www.google.com/nikcollection/ where you can also get an idea of what the various filters in the package can do. And with just one installation, you will get the filters in both the 32 and 64 bit versions of PSP.

Re: Plug-ins
Ken FWIW my understanding is that Google has sold the Nik collection and it's no longer going to be free. So anyone wanting them had better get them while they can.
For me all these 'installing plugins' issues need a sticky at the top. 99% of the time it is the same issue. I solved the problem by creating a single Folder called 'Temp Plugins'. Any new plugins get copied to that folder. You only have to point PSP to that one folder. PSP should pick up all the various plugins for you.

Re: Plug-ins
I have the free Nik Collection (32bit and 64bit installed), and want to point out that for some - I think for most people - the Viveza 2 plugin has a little bug. When you use the plugin on an image the preview image in the Viveza 2 will be extremely desaturated. The workaround is that you have to zoom in to at least 33%, at which time normal saturation returns.Ken Berry wrote:While speaking of freebies, another set of excellent filters which is now totally free are the Google Nik filters. The other workaround for those of us who have the standalone version of Viveza 2 is to use JSJ's Nik plugins workaround script to invoke the standalone version of Viveza 2 as a plugin in PSP rather than using the plugin version as our plugin. The standalone version doesn't desaturate the image in the preview at any zoom level, and the standalone version acts the same as the plugin using the script - with the added advantage that it returns the processed image as a new layer on your original image in PSP.
And I also found that neither the plugin or standalone version opens full screen in my monitor, and doesn't seem to have the little icons in the upper right corner to do so. But just using the "f" key on your keyboard (without any modifier) will make it full screen. In case that helps anyone....
Just thought people might wonder why their preview image in the Viveza plugin might not look as colorful as it should, and the workarounds available.
