X8 SP3

I am rather surprised to find that a Service Pack 3 has been released for PSP X8 - here. I did not expect further updates to this version. The slow startup times reported for X9 and 2018 were also afflicting X8 for me - and have apparently not been cured. However, good to see continuing support for an old product.

It brings PSP X8 up to 18.3.0.13 and has fixed the reverting to Save As for every image worked on in a session so that after the first showing of the options in a Dave As dialog, thereafter Save behaves normally.
One hopes that they will soon release a correction for the terrible Crop tool grey area and image rotation for 2018.

The update info mentions it contains 12 new scripts. Anybody know if those scripts are already included with X9 or 2018?

Don't know the answer - the list of scripts is provided with the release notes at that link above. You get a download link for the scripts after you install the SP, but currently I get an error when I try to access it

I applied the SP3 update but did not receive a link to the FREE Exclusive Script Bundle. Does anyone know how or where to download them ?

Try Help -> Messages, then click "Paintshop Pro X8" on the right.

I presented Corel with this issue & their response is below . . .

"Hello Tim,

Thank you for contacting Corel Technical Support.

We notice that we have another customer that has the same issue, Also, We are experiencing the same issue on our end. We will put this ticket on hold and we will further investigate regarding this issue."

hartpaul, Yes, after a bit of prodding & pleading, Corel coughed up this link. I didn't care for most of them though - only kept a couple.

Thanks for that Tim. Corel should put that on their website along with the SP3 Update link as there will be some that have installed SP3 and had the link to the scripts fail.

Where are these scripts installed? They come with an installer instead of being a zip of the scripts, so not sure how one can determine whether or not any of the scripts are useful.

I know, that .exe was a bit of overkill. This is where it put them on my system . . .

While it originally mentioned 12 scripts, that link actually installed 20 -- though of course some are subsets of the same theme.

Interesting I could only find 12 new scripts added which made the total up to what is in X9 anyway so I already had those extra scripts.
The new ones added were in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X8\Languages\EN\Scripts-Restricted 29 in main folder + Artistic folder 28 + File Open folder 2 + Photo folder 6
and the 29 became 41.
The new scripts added were:
