hnnhhhh Now it says "the module "c:\program" failed to load" and then if I put c:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2018 (64-bit)\PSPPThumbShellExt64.dll into quotes, (regsvr32 "c:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2018 (64-bit)\PSPPThumbShellExt64.dll") it comes up with the other error message....the first one I reported.

BTW. while SellexView shows PSPPThumbExtractore and has a file name, a search of my HDD finds no match for "PSPPThumb" (quotes not used in search)

Ahhh what? I just did a search of my HDD for "pspimage" and up came all the matches....ALL of them viewable as thumbs.

So my problem is "solved", apparently by blind luck.

Thanks so much for all the help and I'll wait till it happens again. :?

This thread needs a big cleanup.

Levi's first post is correct.

But before you reinstall/or register latest thumb DLL check if it is not already registered.

Have you used also Clean Up Tools for: PSP after uninstall PSP?

My settings had to be changed after Windows 1803 update. It took a couple of tries and reboots, but now the thumbnails are showing again. Not sure how long they'll stay that way, so I thought I'd post this for anyone who is having the thumbnail problem. I didn't edit the Registry, but that may happen if thumbnails start reverting to only icons again.: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/reset-fol ... in-windows

Just an update on my situation which turned out to be an exhausting one at that:
I spoke too soon in my reply above. The icons sans thumbnails returned yesterday. This time absolutely nothing worked to fix the problem. I noticed that thumbnails in places where the computer was not sharing with OneDrive were fine.
That made me question whether OD had created the problem. In addition, that was the only computer that had PSP 2018 installed. I cannot help wondering if there is a problem using PSP image files (or any type of image files that are edited often) kept on OD. I never had thumbnails leave when older PSP versions were installed, but neither was OD. I have not reviewed this thread to see if other versions of Windows without OD had a thumbnail problem - which would cause me to blame PSP.
I ended up doing a clean install of Windows 10 1803, but have not reinstalled PSP2018 yet. Would this count as my second of three installs, thus leaving me with 1 left? Or is that not the case because it's a reinstall on the same computer?

All my PSP files are on OneDrive because I share them between computers. My thumbnails are present there.

That's encouraging.
What version of Windows 10 are you using?
How long have you been doing this? I had PSP 2018 and OD sharing for about 4 months. I wish I knew what corrupted the whole thing. :?

When re-installing PSP 2018, the installation process did not ask if it was a reinstall on the same computer. I had to go through registration, etc.. PLEASE, somebody tell me that it was not # 2 of my 3 installations! :(

I'm just about ready to get back to work after encountering PSP script errors -- not sure what was going on there, but I suspect the preview animation that runs is using Flash, and I've been trying to avoid Flash. Just a few more tweaks to Preferences, and I'll be back to normal and hoping thumbnails don't disappear again.

Linda Lou, I don't know if you're only allowed 3 installations like they are counting. You're allowed to install on up to three computers via the end license but I've seen nothing to suggest they'll reject your registration if you go beyond 3. And if they do you can always call them an get them to up that. In older versions the end user license said 3 but you could install more times than that before they complained and calling them to up it was the solution. Obviously that was years ago but they don't have a licensing/registration system like Photoshop does where you can go in to your account and deactivate certain computers use of the software. So it's a lot less controlled than that. I think the 3 computers are more of an honor thing.

The boxed version has no such restriction on the number of times you can install. And I have installed PSP 2018 on this laptop three times and on the desktop twice, downloaded version on each one.

That's good to know. I have the boxed version, but I recall reading "three computers" back when I installed it the first time. I didn't bother to read the licensing info this time around. I just made a mental note of the fact because I'd like to have 2018 on another laptop, but don't want to use up all my installs in one year.

Hi

Don't know if this has been suggested before but try this.

Go to https://www.botproductions.com/pspthumb/download.html and download either the 32bit or 64bit version depending on your operating system.

Run the file to install it and restart Windows.

You should now find that the thumbnails appear in Explorer.
