I wish VS would support accelerated rendering with AMD graphics cards.

Re: Wishlist for VS 2019
I've been hoping for clip to clip transitions on the overlay track that DON'T apply the transition across the main track. For example, if you have 2 PIP on an overlay track and wish to apply a page peel between them, the page peel added to the overlay track applies the page peel effect to the main track as well - not the result you are looking for.
If there's a way to do this without pre-rendering the page peel between the clips on the main track as a video clip and importing it back into the overlay track as a new PIP event, I haven't found it.

There is a group of transitions which will do this without affecting other overlay tracks.plasmavideo wrote:I've been hoping for clip to clip transitions on the overlay track that DON'T apply the transition across the main track. If you select the Transition section and click the drop-down menu, down the bottom of the list is "Overlay Transitions". In VS Ultimate 2018 I have 19 transitions listed.
I would love other transitions to be added to this list, or perhaps I should say "all of them". For now, though there are some.

Re: Wishlist for VS 2019
Thanks Scrubbie! How the heck I missed that after all this time, I'll never know.
That's a big help. but it would be nice to have it universal, so Transitions from NewBlue, for example, or the page peel I wanted for this project, could be used.
Thanks again. A search through the help files never revealed this feature.

Re: Wishlist for VS 2019
Well, oddly, that isn't the answer either. I just tried one of the overlay transitions, the Barn Door Wipe, and added a white border. The transition border appears over the entire video, not just the overlay track, so it looks like the transition is not limited to just that overlay track, so back to square one.
Maybe "Overlay Transitions" in Corel context does not mean what we think it does.

Re: Wishlist for VS 2019
This illustrates what I'm talking about. I have a base image on the main video track. I have 2 50% pictures on an overlay track that I wish to apply a transition between.
I added the Checker transition from the Overlay Transitions selections. I applied a white border within the transition options. Here is the result.

Re: Wishlist for VS 2019
It's the border which is the problem with all the transitions which allow a border. If you don't apply a border, the overlay transition works as advertised.
And by the way scubbie, I have 40 transitions in my Overlay Transitions window... Not sure why you can only see 19.

Re: Wishlist for VS 2019
Scubbie, as Ken states, you should have 40 overlay transitions, have you installed the free packs from the "Get More" tab of the Welcome Screen, I think the Graphics Pack is the one you need

Re: Wishlist for VS 2019
plasmavideo, I fully understand your frustration, I raised that issue few years ago. It could never be mended due to fundamental 15 years old core code philosophy. No one at corel has the knowhow to dive into that code, many resent tries caused only more havoc to VS, were what used to work ~OK work now as OK? .

Re: Wishlist for VS 2019
Hi
Overlay transitions
I also see 40 transitions.
Robert as far as I know the A/B transitions are not installed from any Do-More / Get More downloads.
They are provided with the Main program, some may be provided by the Contents Pack, even then I think all are installed with the main program?
Scubbie, if you have not reset the program then that may help?

Re: Wishlist for VS 2019
Ok, I now have 32 transitions in that folder. I had thought that the Graphics pack had been installed. I'll redo the other packs to see if that helps.
To be fair, I tend to stick with the less fancy transitions for most of my work. Yes, I have used a few others. Some have been used within a template and I made use the NB motion Blends in one project. Most of the time it's better to keep things simple though.
Cut, crossfade and fade through black.

Short Cut
I wish if new versions of Video Studio comes with Keyboard short cuts customization, so I can customize them as I want.
