Hi
If you wish to remove a Split or Graphic you can do that from the Template Editor
Choose the Arrow to the right of the Splitting Tools or Graphics
Now select any line, then hit the Bin icon

Look at other software like PowerDirector16 and see the gap and close that gap:

- more modern output-profiles (mkv, hevc,...)
- software subtitles (in mkv, mp4)
- speed of editing (with image icons)
- speed of render on modern systems

I would love to be able to open multiple video projects at once. Perhaps in a way similar to how you might have multiple office documents open at the same time.

This would allow people to review ideas and video clips in different projects more easily by quickly switching between them and also provide a simple portal to copy items from one project to another. It could also be a possible way to copy the properties of a clip in one project and use them on a clip in another project. It would also save a considerable amount of editing time as each time you load a project it may take a few minutes to load the clips and then you also need to find the specific clip/s you wish to review or change in each project.

To copy the attribute of a clip in one project to a clip in another project, you currently need to:
  1. load the first project
  2. move the clip to the media library
  3. close the first project by opening the second project
  4. move the clip to your timeline
  5. copy the attributes of the clip
  6. paste the attributes of the copied clip to the clip in the second project (selectively or all)
  7. delete the clip from the first project
It may be that you want to take small pieces of a major project to create a short highlight advertisement. By having multiple projects open the whole process could be simplified.

Scubbie, for most of this you can save favorites ez pizi , much more usable than PD or VMS
or simply as templates.

Hello asik1,

Yes I'm aware that you can save things as template and favourites. Even if you remove the thumbnail after you may be left with extra files on your drive.

Sometimes I may just want to pinch a few pieces from one project and implement them in another. Or it may be that I want to just check over how I did something, without messing with the current project.

Another might be that I've wanted to try out an idea and then adjust something in the middle of a project.

I have wanted this for a long time but don't think it will happen, which is why I haven't added it to the feature wish list.

VS2018 can output to HEVC. I've done it.
Speed of editing and rendering.... that's based on the computer you have. BTW... unless you are directly comparing the same projects, effects, and rendering, you have no idea of what VS2018's speed is in comparison to PD. Don't believe their "ad copy". They still say they are the fastest according to an OLD outdated PCMag review. They haven't been the fastest in a few years now. Now, what is "image icons" and how would that speed up editing?
As for subtitles in video, I thought you could already Share them as MP4 files.

I would rather have that assigned to another key combination.... Ctrl z is for "undo". Maybe programmable keys options?

I believe nothing... but I use both products: VideoStudio and PowerDirector for more than 10 years. In 2007 it was VideoStudeo 10 (Ulead) and PowerDirector 5. Now I have VideoStudioX10 and PowerDirector 16 about 6 months now. So I can compare them. I am not saying that PowerDirector is better in all aspects than VideoStudio but rather that Corel should look very closely to the competition. I have given only those 4 points to the wishlist because on these areas VideoStudio is behind.

About the "image icons": it is about the thumbnails in the clips on the timeline (when in Preferences: Clip Display Mode:thumbnails is set): loading is 'behind the scene' and scrolling left and right is erratic. This is already mentioned here:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=62235&start=15 (loading behind the scene)

More modern output profiles: I should say more reliable rendered files (hevc, xavc,...). See an example of a problem here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=63313

MKV-files with integrated soft subtitles cannot be done in VideoStudio. Soft subtitles are always separate file (.srt), even with .mp4, with VideoStudio.
So my 4 points stays:

- more modern output-reliable video files (mkv, hevc,...)
- software subtitles (in mkv, mp4)
- speed of editing (with thumbnails on timeline)
- speed of render on modern systems

I've always found the slider controls (e.g. in colour correction, brightness, contrast etc.) to be far too small.
Because of their size, adjustments are far too coarse and fiddly.
There's more than enough room to make them much larger and easier to use.

Some suggestions:
1. Ability to create custom lines in Rotopen and save to library, or at least modify the line options that are there now... OR ability to easily add graphics to track with lines drawn in Painting Creator.
2. Ability to save custom graphics in Rotopen library so they don't have to be searched out on the hard drive every time. Hey, I kayak a lot! lol!
3. Ability to size less critical tracks much smaller than current settings allow so focus can be on video track and multiple overlay tracks if desired.
4. In Preferences/Edit, ability to set default time in items such as transitions to less than 1 second. Hard cuts are sometimes too hard, and can be softened just enough with a half second crossfade, especially in slide shows.
5. This one is just annoying, perhaps only to me..LOL...When choosing to view either Library, Options, or Both, the 3 little square icons jump from far right to the left when changing to View Both. Like I said, just a little annoying because my eyes are trained to look to the right. Just have those icons always in the same position no matter what your choice is.

sambucadog,
(1-3) Rotopen is not Corel's it's prodad so don't expect anything more than there is. If you fancy Rotopen, get the full version.
(4) Never will be, I raised this issue years ago, Corel afraid to mess the code to correct that, but happily messes the code on other useless stuff.

pepegota, why you stop on 5K ? VS can easily jump to 8K.
