Have done two or three videos with voice over with out any problem. Today I tried to do voice over in a new video and had issues. After doing the sound check and hit start the video started but no movement in the clips. The clips cycle though but with out any movement by the people involved so its difficult to do the narration regarding what's going on in the clip. When I stop the vid the voice track will appear and have whatever I said before I stopped it. I get this error message and have no idea what it means and have searched for a solution but to no avail. "invalid MCI device ID-use the ID return when opening the MCI device".
Thx in advance.

Re: VS X10 voice over issue
The MCI (Media Control Interface) error message should be related to multimedia peripherals such as a microphone, a sound card or a CDROM player. If VS has just stopped working then something has changed, so you might want to check that both the hardware and drivers associated with your multimedia peripherals all working and updated where possible.TNperry wrote:"invalid MCI device ID-use the ID return when opening the MCI device".

Re: VS X10 voice over issue
Have Realtech sound card. Checked and all drivers are updated according to searches. What is so strange is that the headset is still plugged into the sound card as it was when I did previous voice over videos. Nothing has changed as far as I know. VS is working perfectly without the mic being activated but when I hit start the first clip freezes as far as action within the clip is concerned. When I stop the clip the voice over will appear and sounds perfect like I recorded it. Someway the mic is creating a glitch in some way just not sure how.

Re: VS X10 voice over issue
I may have found something causing the glitch. After checking everything related to my microphone setup and all was good I decided to just use a random video clip and put it on the timeline and try and do the Voice over. I did this and everything worked as it supposed to. Just did that one random clip so don’t know why I couldn’t do the voice over on the project I have started but I couldn’t. So, now I will delete the saved project and start from scratch and hope it all works.
