If I edit a clip in the timeline (doubleclick a clip), my Media Window is split - so far OK.
If I leave "Edit-Clip" Mode, there's still a Window on the rightside show me some timestamps and I have to click show Media Library to bring up the whole Media Window.
This is new in VS2018 (for me) and I prefer the VS10 behaviour.
Does anyone knows a "Workaround"?

On the right of the screen above the Timeline there are three symbols, first a double window overlapping, next an open book symbol and third a pencil on page symbol. (They do move according to the page shown above.)
Try clicking on the left hand (double window) to restore the library. I suggest you try each of these to see the effect .

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Thats the issue - after Editing, the Default view is "Media Library and Options Screen" and i always have to click on the "Show Media Library" Icon to expand.
One click more - compare to VS10.

Re: Media Window / VS 2018
Why compare to VS10. 2018 has a new approach which should be tested before comparisons are made. I found the new layout daunting at first but IMO it is better than VS10 as it is more flexible and easier to access the options.

Re: Media Window / VS 2018
Well I have to agree with Dirk, I do not like the Split Panel / Dual View
I much prefer to see the Media library in full and the Options panel in full
By the way X10 had a split panel but nobody noticed as it was horizontal, media clips at the top and Options Panel below
2018 have introduced an additional tab, Corrections and those details need space so the panel has been re-arranged, Even so no need to split the screen.
I am constantly selecting the full view only for it to return to a dual view.
