VS 2018 Unable to restore purchase

Robert -- hope you don't mind but I corrected your typo reference to 'vst_plug' to vft_plug...

That being said, Graffiti disappeared from my X10 too once I had installed 2018. However, I didn't bother about reinstalling it, and instead just copied the Graffiti7.vft file from that folder in 2018 and copied it to the same folder in X10. I also renamed the 20.0 folder in C:\Users\[MyName]\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro and the databases were rebuilt when I next reopened X10. Graffiti now shows there and works well, with no sign of any licensing issues.

I did not particularly check 2018 but thought Boris was there.

I will check again tomorrow, I have reported as a bug, but not mentioned looking in 2018

At the moment I have no Boris in x10, so will install that?

When you installed did you run the full bonus pack or individual plugin?

Trevor, installed Graffiti as individual plugin, for some reason would not install if I ran the full Bonus pack, all the other apps installed correctly

Yep, this is what I am now seeing as well RobertOZ. Someone obviously has either decided that we can only have one version running at a time, or they didn't test things properly first. Perhaps they thought that we'd uninstall VS X10 as soon as VS 2018 was installed. Personally I'd like to run both editions for a while as I get used o the new features and see what, if anything, i missing.

I'll have a look after some sleep, but I'm wondering if I can make a copy of the folder that is created, and restore it after it's been removed by the installer to get it working.

On a side note I do like the new look button for the tracks. It makes it a little easier to mess around as you're editing. I'll need to play around with the ability to resize the track width to see how that is. No longer do I see a prompt telling me to add a title after editing an existing title.

Sadly the number of tracks for each category has remained the same. Whilst it hasn't been an issue for myself, I know that some people would prefer more tracks being made available, especially audio tracks.

I can see the benefits of the 3 buttons in the library area and I can see how they will be useful. At the same time they can be a nuisance at first. A minor detail and I'm sure people will appreciate the change in due course.

It would be nice if the lens correction feature could have picked up the metadata in the source file, in the same way Corel PSP does. Ok a manual selection is always appreciated too, just in case you've got a new lens or something isn't quite right. The new metod of picking up presets is good if you have a GoPro. I've yet to receive any footage from some of the other action cameras, but they can all be just that little bit different. In some of the fottage I hope to be getting I'll actually not want to be correcting the lens distortion on purpose. So it's all a little play around to see what works best for now.

The same issues with regards to transitions apply as have existed in previous versions. This means that if I was to hve multiple images on the screen at once then it best to either use the cut feature or fade transition to switch between clips or one transition for them all at the same time.

I decided to run the full package again with the same results, the other version of Boris Graffiti is removed from the program. X10 or 2018

Scubbie, you have one copy of that file in 2018, so can copy from 2018 version to X10.
As Ken mentioned as a workround, works for other FX filters.

Thank you both Ken and Trevor. I kept this page open overnight and have resolved the problem this morning. Both VX X10 and VX 2018 now have the Boris Graffiti 7.0 plugin.

Trevor: The transition issue I referred to is one I raised a long time back. An easy example woud be to put a background picture or video on, then a small video in another track. If you want to use a transition such as fade all will appear correct. However if you use another transition, such as dissolve or shater, on just the small video, then it affectect the whole screen. This can affect the background picture/video too.

There are a few templates which give tricks to manage this. One example would be 029_HD-Project (within the 'Middle' folder), which utilises a black background. If you place a picture, coloured background or video in the background, the whole effect is ruined. In the Squares & Spheres template various wipes are used to good effect.

Most transitions will affect the entire screen, but some only affect the clip.
These transitions have been segregated in another library page.
Have been available since CVSX7

I've reproduced the failure in Restore Purchase that Scubbie reported. In my case, NewBlue Explosions purchased in X10.5 wouldn't (simply) restore in VS 2018. I've entered a bug, am discussing with the In Product Purchase team and expect it to be resolved very soon.

Nice to know that others would like this resolved. Thanks for raising it too.

My case was closed with a note to advise that it's been passed on to the manager. I hope that the information is collected and a resolution is included in the first update.

The actual issue is server based so I doubt any service packs will be needed, just get the server working correctly.
