No reasonable upgrade path

Post by G0bble »

Hi Folks
I realized belatedly after purchasing X10 pro that I wanted Ultimate edition. However there appears to be no upgrade path that is reasonable.
Picture this - a full bundle of X10 Pro is USD 63.99 after discount while a full bundle of X10 Ultimate is usd 79.99 - which makes a difference of usd 16.
Now try buying an upgrade license for Ultimate - it is not around usd 20 as one would reasonably expect but usd 63.99 again!

That means if you purchase X10 pro and like it enough to want to upgrade to Ultimate - you are penalized by usd 48 for your loyalty to the product!!
Its like buying the same product all over again (albeit with the extra features you want) at a marginal discount

It beats me why a product should be priced the way it is right now. What do you folks think about this? Anyone got a better deal on upgrades?

If you bought the pro recently maybe you can get full refund and buy the ultimate.
Corel marketing has no sense, that department cause damage more than you know.
Why you decided to save those 16$ in the first place?

Where are you located? You need to contact Corel Customer Service, advise them you selected the wrong version and would like a refund. I emphasize refund because the next version is out in certain markets. You should be able to upgrade to the next version (2018) for the same price.

Now important question too, how long ago did you purchase X10 pro? There's a 30 day money back guarantee. If longer than 30 days, sadly you will be required to pay the upgrade fee again. There are several times during a version's life the product is offered at various discounts. Not always when they are ready to release the next version, but will do so. Why marketing does it the way they do? Only they know. ;)

Well I'm new to editing so I thought I wouldn't need all the fancy features of an "ultimate" version. But now I realize need the mercalli stablization add-on thats only available with the Ultimate.
Its been a few months and I never really got around to editing my videos for a few months after the purchase, hence the late realization. so too late for a refund ...
