Sample Folder VS PRO 2018

You cannot eliminate or clear the "Sample" folder. The option to "Delete" or "Rename" is grayed out. How did this egregious error get out? Version is 89. No problem with VS Pro 10.5 in this regard.

As far as I know all versions of video studio have the options greyed out to remove the Samples folder
Certainly X8, X9, and X10 are not available.
But we could delete the actual clips, X8 only
Others can be deleted but return when rebooting the program

This has been discussed in the past on the forum., it is not a new issue.

No problem with previous versions. This must be addressed! My V S Pro 10.5 has a clean sample folder. That is what I want.

Sorry but I have the same results Using X9 and 10
At least X8 allows me to delete the clips.

But not such a deal as the library will default to the last used library page, so create your own page and use that.

As I said it has been discussed before on this forum, do a search.

If you need this addressing then contact Corel Support, but do not hold your breath......

Just seen your last reply, you will have to explain how you did that? as I cannot do that?

lata, I have no problem doing that on this or any previous versions. I am able to delete the CONTENTS of the "Sample Folder" (not the folder itself - never has been possible) and empty it by simply selecting the files, right-clicking and choosing "delete". or is this not what you mean?

The samples are located in ProgramFiles\Corel\CorelVideoStudioX10\Samples and these can be deleted, however you cannot delete the samples folder itself from the library, that I believe is what Trevor is stating

"You cannot eliminate or clear the "Sample" folder"...the "or clear" bit alonng with his "a clean sample folder" led me to believe he meant that at the least one should be able to empty that folder, in the app. Of course one can also delete the actual files in the folder inside the program directory. Deleting anything from the App Folder merely removes the "icon" as Corel calls it.

I was referring to deleting the library clips, when I did that in the past using X10 they would return when rebooting the program
Yesterday the video samples returned, images and Audio disappeared?
Using 2018 I deleted all clips, all samples returned

For both programs I used Library reset to refresh the library.

Just tried again this morning X10 all clips were deleted, reboot and the libraries remained empty
2018 library returned with all content
Just to make sure I was fully awake I repeated the delete, my library shows in full.

I do not know why we see different things, nor why I get conflicting results, but seems to be the norm for this program

Just to make the point, I have changed the label of this thread in every post to reflect the correct name of the new version. It is not VS 11 or X11: it is VS 2018...

Corel do not make it easy when the registered description refers to X11
I recall a similar issue when X2 was first released, formally VS 12, and yes both were used to describe the program.
I would think they will get it right with 2019
