So I paid the upgrade price of $69... now I see it as low as $29.95 So I opened my 10 version that I still have and I get a $47.99 offer.
These guys have some crappy marketing department...
Thanks,

Corel's marketing department is always pushing some deal on their products. There is a choice to make and it ultimately boils down to "Is the price right for you?"

If you are in the middle of a project and the new version will help resolve a few issues, then perhaps it may be worth upgrading promptly. If you want to get ahead of the learning curve, then once more it's a good idea to upgrade.

A specific deal will only last for a set period. Only those in the marketing department will know if the next deal is going to be better or worse for you.

As always: The choice is yours.

How do you do that?

Can you give us menu->submenu->item instructions?

Hi

As far as I know Triple scoop and Muserk do not use the internet to upload the clips whilst launching VS. They do however create the library folder which would not appear should the internet be disconnected.

When they were first introduced they did just that, launch times were long.
Then Corel changed things, clips are only uploaded when selecting the Triple Scoop or Muserk library, so launch times reduced.

Yes I realise there are some having slow launch times, I am not convinced that it is just a TS or Muserk issue.
For me after starting windows, first time launch of VS2018 took 12 seconds, after which it took 10 sec.
To be honest a few seconds longer than it used to be.

X10 took 11 sec, followed by 8 sec

I have upgraded my corel video studio 10 Pro in December 2017 to corel video studio 10 Ultimate.
I bought the upgrade offer to corel video studio 1018 ultimate and it does not install.
all the parts download and my activation code works but not one of the 5 sections will install. message refers to support and I have had one answer from support which is common sense but not working....turn off firewall, antivirus and clean temp files.
still awaiting support to fix it.

"No version of VS has ever automatically incorporated the library folders of previous versions. They are totally independent installations, so you need to export any previous version library you want and import it into the later version."

How do you import the previous version library?

Is this just USA? When I close VSX10 Ult, I receive a special offer of £41.99 (about $59) to upgrade to 2018.

Corel is constantly pushing deals with different prices on their products. I have no idea how they work things out or what is coming next. If the price is right for you at the time, then my advice would be to take it.

What drove me to upgrade when I did was the knowledge that I had a little downtime between projects, time to experiment a little with the new version and money in the bank. I knew that there would be further discounts around the corner. There were a couple of things in 2018 which I was looking forward to using and these I have done so since.

One tip would be to participate in some of the Webinars that Corel runs. Often they'll send an email after with more voucher codes for you to use.

The new split screen template creator does not seem to work for me.
Instant Project...Select template...Add media....Click OK.
The message: "Failed to save document" always appears.
Then the program crashes, closes.
What could be wrong?

Hello Markquitre,

It may be useful if you could start a new thread on this issue.

Also, could you include a little more detail? For example which instant project template dif you use? What type of media (images, video, size, type) did you add and how?

Not sure where or how to start a new thread. I used the new "Split Screen Template Creator." I tried 2 or three of the preset templates, and always get the "Failed to
save document" message followed by a crash. I used photos (.jpeg) and videos .mp4 (H.264 High Profile Video/24bits 3840x2160).

I also tried the sample media pre-installed with the program. These are .mp4, .wmv and .jpg files. But same result.
