That is very good news. I had a few issues with that in a couple of videos I put together last year. I had to re-edit to get around the problem.

With the kind of source material i may get on a couple of projects, it could be more of an issue this year too, nice to know it is resolved though. :D

The version of Mercalli in VS10 is 2.0, as seen in the following image of the proDADMercalli20Support.dll properties (C:\Program Files\proDAD\Mercalli-2.0):

Does anyone know the version of Mercalli in VS2018?

It shows as 2.0.127 Tech. r79 in my VS 2018. That's in the title to the open Mercalli filter box after I have selected Customize Filter. The proDADMercalli20Support.dll properties are the same as the number you supplied above (2.0.77.1).

I just opened X10 and Mercalli there is also 2.0.127 Tech. r79...

This is disappointing as my VS X7 is running 2.0.127 Tech. r79 too while my VS X5 is running 2.0.126 Tech. r78. So essentially the version of Mercalli in VS has not changed for 6 years.

To buy a full version of Mercalli V2 from proDAD costs how much? Oh, that's right... more than the entire cost of buying VS2018.
They have updated Mercalli to V4 but Corel doesn't support it or for Corel, it's too expensive to include in the product and keep the price where it's at. It's a lot better to keep those 6 year old, inexpensive plugins that do work fairly well, to keep the cost down for the software.
proDAD also have a standalone version of V3 and V4 if you want a more changed in 6 years version.
That's why I believe it's called V2... and then V3 and then V4.

As far as I am aware Magix and Adobe Premiere Pro are the only NLEs that has a Mercalli 4 plugin and it costs US$398 for Mercalli 4 plus plugin

...Vegas Pro has it $149 for just the stabilizer. The entire suite, which includes cmosFIXR and the SAL+ version is $398. Still, far more than the entire cost of VS2018 Ultimate with Mercalli V2, which does a pretty good job.

You get the WIN NLE Mercalli V2 Plug-in in VS since VS5 and not a SAL version. In any event, an upgrade from Mercalli V2 PRO or SAL to Mercalli SAL V3 is $49 directly from proDAD.

I have Magix VPX, with the v4 plugin. Aside from a lot more tweak-options the actual footage I get is comparable between Corel's v2 and that. I only got VPX because I could not get Mercalli to work properly in VS10 but I played with action-cam footage this last weekend and compared the output between the two. I cannot tell the difference. I am going to stick with and move back to Corel because it is just a way better interface for me - now that it is stable and works

Hi

As far as I know Mercalli is generic if that’s the correct description? installing X10 will update all programs installed with Mercalli.

So X7 is using X10 version not the other way round

X7 installation plugin files shows as version 4.42.220.1 modified / created 23-oct – 13 (1.177 KB)
CVSX10.5 uses version 15.0.0.498 created 06-Sep-17 (17.809 KB)

Ahhh... Leave it to Trevor to unravel the mystery of Mercalli V2 "not" being updated!! Thanks!

As for "upgrading" to higher version, I think that's up to proDAD to make the plugin work since they already have V2 working.

As for the cost of the upgrade, again, more that 1/2 the price of the entire, if you bought new, VS2018 Ultimate. The question for plugin makers is if they can make enough back on a plugin to justify the programming. For most, the answer is no, so we really don't see the plugins we know and love with future revisions available.

The increase in rendering speed and the Split Screen option are good improvements. The inability to clear the "Sample" folder is not too good. The layout has improved. I would say "the improvements justify the purchase." In addition, it is also a question of loyalty and support.

You had me up to loyalty and support. I am paying my money for a product, I want the product to function (for the most part) as advertised and offer me what I consider a good value. For the price of VS2018 Ultimate, there isn't much of anything out there at that price the matches it's overall functionality and performance.
But let me say this, once a company stops doing what I consider necessary to keep me spending my money with them, I look for something else. The company also has to be loyal to it's users and support them too. It's a two way street. Once it becomes one way, I look for another street.

Has anyone tested the NewBlue Essential plugins (like Touchup) to see if they are the newer 64 bit version, or the old 32 bit that suffered from very slow performance.

Using VideoStudio since old Version 7. Currently using X10.
