How do I import 4k MOV files into VideoStudioUltimate x10?

Post by BSD »

Can anyone help me with this problem? I am trying to import 4k files into my VideoStudioUltimate x10, I can bring the files in but only the audio plays. The files are: 3840 x 2160 (4k) / 30p, 25p (Bit rate: Approx. 102 Mbps); 1920x1080 (FHD) / 30p, 25p / IPB (SF, F, N); 1920 x 1080 (FHD) / 60p, 50p / IPB (SF, F, N);

Welcome to the forum.

Can you tell us first, though, whether you have the trial version of X10 or the full version.

It would also be useful to know what extension is on the files you want to import. If they are, for instance, .mov then my next question would be whether your have the Quicktime .mov codec on your computer.

While on the subject of Quicktime, you may be aware that Apple (who make it) have discontinued their support for QT for PCs due to some security issues. However, these apparently relate to the QT player and not the QT .mov codec itself. If in fact you don't have the .mov codec installed, have a look at this YouTube video which shows how to install just the codec and not the player: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lDOgqO_fVk&t=

Thanks for the info Ken but it is still not working, the quicktime installer won't let me just install the codec.

Well, nobody else has ever complained that they have been unable to install QuickTime Essentials only, it's the only way to install it.

Remove all reference to QuickTime on your computer, make sure all remnants have been removed, then try to install again
