When I use the text tool and click the tick to ok it, a section box appears around the text. The issue is that there seems to be a large gap between the right hand and bottom edges of the text and the right hand and bottom sides of the box. This obviously makes things like aligning to centre inaccurate and I'm unsure why it is happening.
There are no accidental spaces after the last letter of the text.
Apologies, I didn't realise it hadn't been uploaded.
Here's is a picture of the issue attached. As you can see the box comes way out from the actual text on the right and bottom but this is where the alignment takes it's cue from.
I'm sure it's something simple, but I just don't know it yet. I'm Using PSP X4.
Does this happen with all fonts? Or just certain ones?
I may be wrong but I think this problem first showed up in X3 and didn't get corrected until X5 or X6. Does anyone remember when they corrected the extra space issue? Although admittedly I don't recall it being that drastic of an additional space.
I think from here the best we can offer are workarounds. For example, duplicate your text object and convert it to a single shape. This will fix the bounding box but leave the copied text un-editable. Now, position the copied text. Next, align the original text top and left to the copied text top and left. It's longer but you should only need to do this every time you edit the text and need to move it. So pre-planning should help to keep those to a minimum. And scripting can be used to help decrease the number of clicks to get the copy and to align the original to the copy if you do this often.
