VideoStudio X10 slow on Win10, Skylake i7 and GTX1080?

Post by the_vinci »

Hello everyone,

I've recently purchased Corel VideoStudio X10 Ultimate and the program is working, however performance leaves something to be desired on my system.

Mostly use Videos created by shadowplay (all default settings, 1080p60) and performance is really slow, scrubbing is stuttery and pressing the play button to watch the project is greeted with a 5 seconds lag. Doesn't matter if I use smart proxy or not. Pretty much any interaction is greeted with a brief freeze of the window, whether it's dragging a video, previewing it, adding a transition.

I have no idea what causes it, hardware acceleration is on and the system should be more than capable. (FWIW, I dual boot a hackintosh and iMovie is way more performant).

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks for the awesome community!

Damn, don't know what it is really. All Standard, installed on an SSD (with all videos on the same SSD)....it's painfully slow. Tried some other videos (720p stuff from my PS4) -> same.

Are we missing some additional software maybe?!

Hi guys

If the problem is a Codec issue then maybe installing K-Lite codec pack will help.
The Corel knowledge base has an article regarding “K-Lite”

https://support.corel.com/hc/en-us/arti ... ideoStudio

With the following message at the end of the article

“Once you have the codec pack installed try re-importing the video into VideoStudio, if the video still does not import or you are still unable to edit the video, contact the Corel Support Team”

If you are able to share a sample video we can try using our programs.
You would have to upload to a sharing site, Google Drive, One Drive, DropBox etc.
Provide a sharing link with your post.

Use the Smart Proxy Manager and check that proxy files have actually been created and where they are being created, i.e. locally or on network share.

The latest version of WD has had problems with some of Corel's products causing slow starts and performance.
Try disabling it and see if there is a change.
