I've a .mov file to insert into a project. It plays differently on 2 machines, both running X8 Ultimate on win7 sp1.
On one machine,
1. individually it inserts to the timeline, and plays as a clip, but when run as a project the clip image immediately goes to the Black and white of relink. Relinked, the clip just plays 'black' as tho there was nothing there. rendered to an mpg file, same result.
2. inserted into a project, it fits into the overlay space in the right place, but plays black. same re-link occurrence as in 1.
on the 2nd machine,
the .mov file inserts OK plays OK no relink about it.
Why? As far as I can determine there is no difference between the machine setups.

Hi Peter
and welcome to the forums
Do you have the QuickTime Codec installed on both machines.
Are both machines using current Windows updates?
