Version reccomendation please

Hello and good day and thank you for your time.

I was using Corel X4 years ago and since new updates and etc. I have found the program will not run anymore even after a clean install..

So what version would you recomend (to save me money) to buy brand new in a retail box that would work Windows 7 Pro. Is version x7 too old to work well or??

Dont' care about a ton of bells and whistles.. X4 worked pretty good for me. but I have heard they have gotten simpler to find stuff. that is always good.

Even so I would advise that you update to at least X7, X8, X9 for that Corel provided a fix available here

CVSX4 is very old and uses standard definition settings for its projects, later versions updated to using High Definition settings.
So I guess it depends on your needs.
I advise that you update anyway, even if you do get X4 running.

I would think X4 will be giving popups prompting you to purchase X10 at a very good price.(20$ ish)

If your going to buy a new version, then buy the latest. VSX11 will be coming out shortly so either buyVSX10 now or wait until VSX11 comes out.

Thank you very much all.. You mention a fix for X9? I just purchased a new X9 version and have not installed it yet.. Is there some sort of issue with X9 requiring a fix?

Apologies and sorry for any confusion

There was a windows 7 update that affected video studio as X9 was released.
Corel brought out a fix for x7 and 8, do not think X9 download version required that fix. Maybe the boxed version
But as far as I know the problem affected Windows 7 not Windows 10.

The fault did not affect the functions of the program just stopped the program from launching.
If X9 was affected it would have been corrected with X9.5
You should not have any problems.
