I was just wondering...Corel VideoStudio x10 takes me about 5 hours or even more to render a 2 hour video.
Input file format: .mts
Export format settings:
File Format: .mp4
1920*1080, 25fps,
Data rate: 15000 kps
Audio bit rate: 192kbps
If I put my computer on airplane mode, will I be able to render the video faster?
Or how can I reduce the rendering time?
Please help!
Will rendering in airplane mode export a video faster?

Rendering time depends in part on how many filters that you've applied and what those filters are doing. Some filters are much more CPU intensive than others.hemalatha wrote:I was just wondering...Corel VideoStudio x10 takes me about 5 hours or even more to render a 2 hour video.
This won't help much unless either you or your the computer is doing something on the network whilst rendering.hemalatha wrote:If I put my computer on airplane mode, will I be able to render the video faster?
1. As mentioned, look at your use of filters.hemalatha wrote:Or how can I reduce the rendering time?
2. Are you pulling video clips off a NAS or a local SSD? The latter should yield some reduction in rendering time.
3. Are you using your computer for other tasks including background tasks when rendering? Check what your CPU is doing apart from rendering.

What are the properties of the MTS file?

A 2 hour video is huge! Rendering such huge video means lots of disk activity, and big demand on your CPU and memory. You have not given your pc specs, and the power of your pc is critical to get low rendering times. As others have pointed out, your project filters, transitions, titles, music all require processing during rendering. You have not given the properties of your input video files; rendering to a different format adds processing during rendering.
BTW, have you thought of who is going to watch a 2 hour video made by you? I find that anything over 15 minutes has my audience getting up with excuses to leave.

Actually, if you have to know, the videos are part of a lecture series for about 30 days, totalling upto 120-130 classroom hours. The video time has not been decided by me, so there is no way I can reduce the length of the video without extending the duration of the classes. And, yeah, I do use a lot of filters like color Fixing, cropping, etc and all of them are necessary for the video.aljimenez wrote:A 2 hour video is huge! I am considering upgrading my computer, to try and speed up this process, so what features would you recommend that I specifically look into so that my video renders faster?

Converting from one format to another will take longer than rendering to same format.aljimenez wrote: You have not given the properties of your input video files; rendering to a different format adds processing during rendering.
If that cannot be done then try to retain as many settings from the original.
Do you need Mpeg4 or will MTS types be ok for you?
Things to consider to speed up render times.
Your project properties should match your original video files
From share choose same as project properties
use Smart Render, selected by default.
If file size is not a problem , try using Constant data rate not Variable.

I think the closer you are to one of the fast gamer pc's the better. A large SSD drive and large regular drive, lots of memory, fast video card with at least 2GB memory, fast i7 class processor. You can see my pc on the right for ideas; I should have bought a faster video card with more memory but I am happy with my pc.hemalatha wrote:I am considering upgrading my computer, to try and speed up this process, so what features would you recommend that I specifically look into so that my video renders faster?

Why not determine what the bottleneck is before spending any money? Some suggestions were made above on what to look for.hemalatha wrote:I am considering upgrading my computer, to try and speed up this process, so what features would you recommend that I specifically look into so that my video renders faster?
