Is it possible to import or export the project created with X8 to X10, including all the images and music ?
I have installed X10 and I can recover the project( opening VSP ) but I don't know how to import the project name and all the contens to keep working.
I don't know if it is possible...
Many thanks.

Re: Add project folder to new version
Sorry, Alfons. I am not sure what your problem is. You can always open projects made in earlier versions of Video Studio if you have a later versions of VS. By default your projects are stored in C:\Users\[Your Name]\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\My Projects So if you have saved an earlier project there, you simply open X10 and go to File > Open Project, and navigate to that folder if it does not open automatically. You choose the project name you want to open, and it should open... Let us know if that does not work.
Just be aware that if the project opens, and you save it again in X10 it will no longer open in the older version of VS unless you give it a new name in X10.
Bona sort!!

Re: Add project folder to new version
depends on how you have the files arranged on your computer - when ever I start a new project I always create a new Windows folder in file explorer giving it your project name - then in the new version you just have to create a new library pane (project folder) and use the 'import media' icon in the top left corner to browse to that folder and select every thing in it which will then populate your library pane
Or if you have files in different folders all over your computer then I find this method gives the least hassle - open the project in the latest version (X10) then create a new library pane (project folder) giving it your project name - then just drag everything up into the pane where a copy thumbnail will be created. You can use the standard Windows "click >> shift+click" to select multiple clips in the timeline so it is not to much of a job to do if you have a lot of them

Re: Add project folder to new version
Gràcies per "Bona sort!"
What I'm trying to do is to recover all the videos, pictures and music that were in a working screen in the other version.
For example: I have a name of a project were I put fotos, videos and music in X8, but when I open the project in X10, the name and all the files don't appear.
Difficult to tell.

How can I send you screenshots?

I think I understood you!
I has to be done that way.
There's no way to pass the name of the project to the new version recovering all the contens.
Do you understand me?
Many thanks Brian.
And, even a bit late Happy New year!!!
Good weather in Maori's country?

Re: Add project folder to new version
Hi Alfons
Can you confirm that you have both CVSX8 and CVSX10 installed on your pc.
If you have uninstalled X8 then any program samples filters etc. may not work when opening in X10.
Using X8 what is the name of your project and where on the pc is the project file (VSP ) saved
Launch CVSX10 , go to File - Open Project and browse for the Project File VSP you used in X8.
That should open showing all your clips intact.
Do you receive a message to relink clips.
Weather report for UK, its cold, damp overcast and generally miserable today, although it has now stopped raining.
But the grass is green

Re: Add project folder to new version
You've been a member of this Board for several years now. So I imagine you know that a VSP file does NOT contain any video, photos, music or titles. It is merely a small text file which tells Video Studio where all the video, photos, music etc in a project are stored on your computer. In other words, when you open your X8 project file in X10 it will only open the video, photos, music etc if they are still on your computer and accessible. So if you deleted those files or moved them to an external hard disk and don't have that disk connected, then X10 will not be able to connect to them.alfons wrote:What I'm trying to do is to recover all the videos, pictures and music that were in a working screen in the other version.
