I have a 1 hr 57 min video I want to burn to a DVD at 8000 bitrate. My DVD burner is an NEC ND-2510A DL DVD-+RW type drive. When I get to the point where information is going to be written on the DVD, I get an error message stating that either their is not enough space on the disc or that the disc is not empty. But the software does detect that I have 7.9 GB of space on a brand new DVD+R DL disc and it states that I only need 6.7 GB for my project. Any suggestions? I see that v8.0 mentions double layer in the added features, but I didnt want to gamble upgrading if I dont have to. Is there another way to get around this?
What is the difference in burn options: 1) record to disc, 2) create disc image file 3) create DVD folders on the burn screen? Can I create all the files necessary to burn a DVD with video studio, and then use another program like NERO to actually burn the DL DVD? Will the creat disc image option create the VOC, BUP, IFO files I need?

While the Burning Engine update that supports DL media works with UVS 7, UVS 7 itself doesn't know about double-layer media and the increased capacity.
One thing you might try is having it output an ISO file instead, and burning that using the CD/DVD Recorder utility that comes with UVS. If that also doesn't work, output to a VIDEO_TS folder, and then use ImageTool Classic to prepare an ISO from that folder, and optionally burn it with DVD Decrypter if that is installed.
