Adding a category with flyout to Effects menu?

Post by JoeB »

I have several bound scripts that run standalone effects/plugins programs (so that I can run them as Plugins in both my 32bit and 64bit versions of PSP) and placed them in my Effects menu. They can't be added to the Plugins flyout because that's not available in Customize mode. Reading the Help file I cannot find a way to add my own category to the Effects menu (e.g. Plugins_Standalone) and then add these bound scripts into that category so that it has a flyout just like the other two Plugins categories that show in my Effects menu. Bottom line is that I'm trying to group them together. If I go to Customize and right click I get an option to check called Start Group but that doesn't seem to do anything. Is it possible to do this?

Under the Commands Tab there is a "New Menu" category, drag in the New Menu command where you want it. That's what you want. Then you can drag any other command as a child of that new menu.

Thanks so much! For me, at least, that wasn't as intuitive as I would have liked. Could you tell me what the New Group item actually does when you are in Customize and right click on a menu item or within the menu dropdown and have New Group checked?

It creates a horizontal line separating one group of menu items from another group of menu items. Same thing with the toolbars except it's a vertical line doing the separation.

Examples being the Effects menu you have the Effects Browser, then a new group starts with all of the fly out menus, then another group with user defined filters and plugins. On toolbars its the bars between the scan open and new buttons, and the save buttons, and the undo redo buttons, etc.

Thanks again! Couldn't they have just called it New Separator? Sheesh!
