Hi guys, I'm trying to "Batch Convert..." all of my videos to MPEG-4 so they behave properly on my TV's screensaver. However, I can't figure out how to increase the resolution of the conversion, and it doesn't matter which files I select to convert.
I click File / Batch Convert
I select one or more files to convert, choose "MPEG-4 files" in "Save as Type", and click Options, and click the General tab.
In the "Frame Size" section the "Standard" radio is selected but the maximum resolution available in my drop-down list is 720 x 576. I want it bigger since my TV is 4k. And the User-defined" radio is disabled so that's not an option.
However, if I go into Edit mode and drag the same input file to the timeline I can then generate an MPEG-4 all the way up to 3840 x 2160. Unfortunately, this process would take too long since I have hundreds of videos to convert.
Suggestions? I'm running VideoStudio Pro x10.5. Thank you!

It would help if you told us the format and resolution of the videos you are trying to batch convert

Re: "Batch Convert" issues in x10.5 - limited resolutions
There was an issue reported òn 24th Dec, have a read at the post ( cannot add files to batch convert)
Corel Support was informed.
I do not know if this is also causing your problem, I am not on my pc at the moment, but can test later...

Hmmm, that's an interesting thought, if I'm reading between the lines correctly. So you're wondering if the reason my MPEG-4 choices are limited is maybe I'm trying to upscale and that wouldn't be logical? Remember, my choices are not limited when working in Edit mode. Anyway, I just added a 1900 x 1080 MOV but still the max resolution in the MPEG-4 dropdown list is 720 x 576.
I'm not going to spend much time on this... I just found a program that might do the trick, called VLC:

I assume you set HIGH for the h.264 compression?
Then set the frame size
Then set the frame size

Re: "Batch Convert" issues in x10.5 - limited resolutions
Hi
I am back on my pc and can test batch convert, I have no problems in setting Mpeg4 properties, all options seem to be available, as when using the main editor or using Movie Profile Manager
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 4096 x 2160, 50 fps
Frame-based
H.264 High Profile Video: 30000 Kbps
44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 256 Kbps
This is what I do...
After opening Batch Convert
Add a video File
choose Save as File type to Mpeg4
Options
Compression tab
Video Type as H.264 High
General tab
set Frame Rate and Frame size
Compression tab set Data rate

Re: "Batch Convert" issues in x10.5 - limited resolutions
Wait, the list of resolutions did change when I changed "Video Type" to H.264-HIGH on the Options/Compression tab. All of the expected resolutions are now there. I'm not even sure what was selected there before. I just stayed out of that area.
So how do I know what "Video Type" to use if I want MP4, and to me it kind of seems like I already picked the video type before getting to this point when I selected MPEG-4.
And what "video data rate" should I choose? I think it was set at 1024, but the originals from my camera are closer to 3000.
Also, thank you very much for your help!
