Bizarre sync issue
I have a clip that when I play it as just a "clip," it is perfectly in sync. When I play this clip in regular media players, it is perfectly in sync. Now, when I get it on the timeline, and I play it back as a project, the beginning is in sync, but towards the end it is off sync by about 1-2 seconds. Does anyone know what the heck is wrong and how to rectify it?

Hi
Can you give more details regarding the video file, the video properties would help.
Right click the clip on te timeline and choose properties, what are they.
You can create a screen shot of that window to attach to your post.
My first thoughts are a variable frame rate, the timelines can only support a constant frame rate, 25, 30,50, 60 etc, if the frame rate is floating about then you could experience the out of sync issues, progressively worse as the video plays.
Variable frame rates are recorded usually by Iphones / tablets.
You may have to use a video converter to create a more editable video file.
How long is your video, 2 seconds is a long delay?, especially if your video is only 20 seconds?

Re: Bizarre sync issue
So it goes from video camera memory card into Multi-Cam Editor. Then it is rendered into an individual file with the same properties as the original files. Then the numerous files are rendered into a complete show, also keeping the same properties. This particular file was 18.5 minutes long. Surprisingly enough, I ran it through TMPGENC and it came out fine on the timeline, so at least I have that in my back pocket if I encounter this again.

Re: Bizarre sync issue
But you still haven't told us the Properties of the video. So please do as Trevor has already asked: put the video in the VS timeline, then right click it and copy ALL the Properties here, or take a screen shot of the Properties box and upload it here as an Attachment.
