Video Studio 6 problems with higher FPS
I have a few questions regarding video editing. I am using Corel Video-Studio 6. I have shot a few videos in 4k at 60 fps, and 2.7K at 120 FPS. In order to convert the higher FPS video to HEVC format we had to download “Handbrake” which converted them fine and are resaved to my computer. The converted videos play fine in Windows Movie and TV app on my computer, however when I try to put the videos into Corel video-studio they are choppy and seem to lag. When we used a 4K video at 30 fPS and created a proxy file in Corel Video-Studio those videos played fine, but videos with higher FPS don’t appear to play correctly even when using a proxy file. Any ideas on what might be the problem with the higher fps videos? I don’t know if it’s the program, or if something else needs to be adjusted. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Video Studio 6 problems with higher FPS
While welcoming you to our Board, I have to say that putting "naaaa" into various of the Profile questions is not helpful, especially in relation to the question you have posed here. There are various ways of getting the information about your system, the most simple being Control Panel > Device Manager. And the program recommended in the registration process for the forum -- BelArc Adviser -- will provide more information free than you will probably ever need.
Why the information is important here is that you mentioned the magic term 'HEVC'. You say you used Handbrake to convert high FPS video to HEVC. But HEVC can only be played on a computer if it has hardware which can "see" and thus play HEVC. And at a minimum, this requires Intel Skylake or equivalent chips. And Video Studio will similarly react if HEVC video is placed in its timeline but it doesn't detect the necessary hardware to be able to deal with the format properly.
So in other words, instead of 'naaaa' we really need to know more about your computer hardware as it is central to knowing whether the computer is capable of playing, let alone editing, high FPS HEVC... Have a look at your Device Manager or download the freeware BelArc Adviser.

Re: Video Studio 6 problems with higher FPS
Hi
CVSX6 project properties only support standard definition at 25 / 29.97 fps. Mpeg2 or DV-Avi where we can set 60fps.
If you add a 29.97 video then all frames will be displayed
If you add a 60fps then half of the frames will be removed
120 fps and only 30 of those frames will be displayed, that will cause a stutter when played back.
From Share there are HD options but that does not help with the timeline view.
120fps video.
As far as I know there are two basic types.
1 / Recorded at 120fps and played back at 120fps, I assume very high quality, video studio cannot playback at 120fps in full.
2 / Recorded at 120 fps, on board software plays back at 30 fps, hi quality Slow Mo video.
It may help understanding what you are trying to do if you explain why you need to convert the 120fps video?
What are the properties of your original video files, before recoding with handbrake?
