Aspect ratio changed sizes of images - How to undo or fix?

Post by cage »

Hi,

I'm new to using this software, recently bought it and really enjoying it. I started this project last week, a video essay, and this morning I feel like I double clicked something or bumped some kind of hot key that changed the aspect ratio to my project.

After I set the ratio back to what I wanted, all of my video clips and images reset themselves back to their default size. Is there anyway (other than undo, because I was messing around with things for a while) I can set everything back with some kind of convenience? Or do I need to manually go back and redo all of the sizes one by one?

Hi

I do not really understand what you clicked to change the aspect other than the icon to the left of the timelines 16:9.
Take care with that as it will change the project properties and possibly the projects aspect.
But changing back to the normal / required aspect should not affect the images.

Ok
I assume you are working using the overlay tracks.
If all images are the same size, and have been resized to the same then we can use Copy and Paste attributes.
Set the first image to the correct size and position, right click the clip for Copy Attributes
Shift+ Click the Last image to select all, Right click for Paste attributes

That will set all images to the same as first image size and position.

Otherwise I do not think you have any choice but to set each image individually.

If you are gonna experiment then first save your project as a copy, at least you have the main project to fall back on should things not work out.

Thanks for the help! That setting you mentioned did help. With my original problem, it looks like I'll have to fix them individually
