This has happened a couple of times. I don't use PSP often, but it seems to ruin my display calibration when I launch it. I'm not sure if it does it all the time, but often enough to be a huge PITA.
I use Color Munki to calibrate my 2 displays. One time I launched PSP X9, and one monitor almost blinded me as it was somehow reset to some other configuration. Logging out and back in restored my calibrations.
A few weeks back, I upgrade to PSP 2018, and, again, I almost went blind due to one monitor calibration being changed or overridden. This time, a reboot did not correct the problem. I've set brightness down to 0 for the time being until I get around to doing another calibration run. But I'd like to know if there is something in PSP that would cause this. I can't use this program if it constantly blows out my monitor calibrations.
Is there some configuration setting in PSP that will prevent this?
Is this a known problem with PSP?
TIA

Re: Paintshop Pro ruins Display Calibration
PSP has always had problems with color management. Most of us turn color management off in PSP.

Corel/PSP Color management has been broken for a long long time. It has been discussed here many many times. Corel simply ignores the issue. My guess is they aren't capable of fixing it.
I'll take this opportunity to issue Corel with a simple challenge. Acknowledge this issue and tell us if you ever intend addressing the issue.
Corel? Anyone want to take up the challenge?

Re: Paintshop Pro ruins Display Calibration
FWIW, my 2018 New Years Resolution is to relentlessly pursue this issue with Corel. My guess is if they fixed about three small issues, such that CM was useful with wide gamut images and 3rd party printer icc files, large numbers of Adobe users would switch, due to their changes in licencing. There's a business case here that would be crazy stupid for Corel to ignore. I've written enough code to know that it just can't be that difficult- unless they somehow lost or don't have access to the source code. I'm guessing Nev would know the answer @nev
