Hi, I'm an almost-new user to Corel software. Aftershot was included with my purchase of Paintshop Pro Ultimate a couple of months ago. I appreciate the raw processing power of Aftershot but have one issue that I cannot resolve. It's reason enough that I'm about to uninstall Aftershot but I thought I'd ask here first in case there's some sort of fix, like a selection in the Preferences menu that I've overlooked.
How can I prevent Corel from creating unwanted XMP files? Any time I open an image, even if I don't tell it to save or write an XMP file or Export, Aftershot leaves an .xmp sidecar file after the program closes. How do I get it to stop creating sidecar files unless I tell it to? Each time I open a RAW file, I want the original RAW file with no previous edits applied. And I absolutely want no orphaned files left in the photo archive folders.

Re: XMP files unwanted
Thats the big advantage - you write NOTING to the original raw file but to the sidecar-files - all information is stored there - so DON'T delete those files!

Re: XMP files unwanted
The only 'information' I want is the original RAW file and the finished jpeg, nothing else.
If I want the software to save a sidecar file, I'll tell it to. Otherwise, don't. That shouldn't be too difficult.

And even if I did want sidecar files, I absolutely would never want them placed in my raw file archive folders!
